Your Thanksgiving Night NFL Football Open Thread

Hey look, we got ourselves a third game on Thanksgiving! But we always have a Thursday night game during the season so not a big whoop but I do recall when it was only a doubleheader and we thought that was enough. At that point we’d wait for the prime time, very special “Alf” episode. I particularly remember the one where he was molested in a bicycle repair shop. However, if the NFL is good at one thing, it’s shoving their product down our willing gullets so we get more.

But does this tilt strike you as one of those ‘off’ games whereby you can’t quite get a handle on it? I usually feel this way when I don’t have a point of reference/history for the teams. The Packers franchise pre-dates Virginia Halas McCaskey’s discovery of fire and the Fins have been around for 59 years and yet they’ve only played 23 times. Now I understand.

To The Game!

Fins/Packers:

-As far as the all-time record goes the Packers lead the series 14-9.

-Giants castoff Xavier McKinney leads the league with seven interceptions (of course he does) because the stink washes off some players earlier than others.

-Perhaps one can be concussed ‘properly’? In the five games since Tua came back from another skull-rattling he has an 11/1 TD/INT rate. However, the team is only 3-2 because that defense is so generous.

-Should Tyreek score a TD he’ll be one of only 4 active players with 80 or more. Mike Evans is one and you didn’t expect me to look up the others so why would I disappoint you by doing so?

-Despite winning six of their last seven Green Bay can’t gain ground on the Vikes and Detroit and so are sitting in third in the division.

-While everyone raves about King Henry and Saquon (rightfully so) Josh Jacobs is sitting on the cusp of yet another 1,000 yard season (944 yards at 4.7 ypc)

Do your thing.
