No changes in the Elimination Challenge this week as all five remaining entries stayed alive.  Here are this week’s updates:

We still have the same five alive although some took an interesting route to get to where we are today.  Who would have thought that the Falcons would be a strong elimination pool pick?

Warthog maintains his three win lead but it is now over a new second place entry!  Sunrisesunrise had a fantastic week to pull into second. Senior Weaselo and Clipboard Jesus are tied for third four games back with yeah right one behind them.  King Hippo and I are another win back.  Entropy apparently forgot to put in his picks and drops all the way from second to 22nd!   Don’t forget to make your picks!

A friend of mine (I guess we’ve grown apart now — tear) was into The Hold Steady when I was in college. I heard a couple songs and got this idea in my head that, since the lead vocalist pretty much talks through all the songs — the opposite of what one would expect — that the trend must be consistent and that he sings during all other times in his life. This was an inside joke between us because it was before fucking insurance commercials that beat this, “oh yeah, I guess that can be kinda funny every once in a while” humor into the ground by playing a commercial with some washed out celebrity singing at inopportune times like 40 times an hour during football broadcasts.

Then my friend saw them in concert and the lead singer sidled up next to him at the urinals. My friend said something about ‘good show’ and the guy’s response was not in song. This news killed our joke and, probably, our friendship.
