Below, my best performing lineup is listed on the left, the ones that took down the contests I was in are on the right.
My Best (149.78 DK Points)
Cousins Henderson Mitchell Pittman Kenny G Van Jefferson Gronk Jefferson Pats |
One Winner (219.44)
Brady Fournette Patterson Van Jefferson Williams Higgins Gronk Waddle Pats |
Another Winner (216.28)
Stafford Mitchell Patterson Waddle Pittman Higgins Gronk Mixon Jags |
I find it very interesting that someone played Stafford naked and managed to win a tournament. In order to win them, you have to get different in some spots and I guess that qualifies. Stacking Brady with Fournette was definitely a way to get different as most people would have had him with Godwin and/or Evans. I made 50 lineups this past weekend. I got back about half of the money I put in. Obviously not good results. Let’s see what went to plan and what did not.
Of the 3 games that had point totals of 48 or higher, all fucking 3 of them went bananas.
I mostly faded GB v LA, but I had Dillon, Henderson, OBJ and Van Jefferson as one-offs in certain places, so I at least got some exposure. The lineups I had Kupp in hurt me as he came just 4 yards of 100 which is a 3 point bonus and did not catch a TD. At 9K, that just isn’t enough.
I had plenty of Tom Brady stacks, which I ran back with Pittman, but in the real version of this game, both teams attacked with their ground game. I had Leonard Fournette in a grand total of zero places.
The Minn v SF game did exactly what I hoped it would, but I ended up with more Jefferson than Thielen, and Deebo going down in the 3rd did not help.
I had a few lineups with the other QBs I mentioned: Burrow, Tyrod, Ryan, and Hurts….none were good enough.
As far as my one-off plays…I was quite happy with many of them.
I thought it was going to be a real good day after Mixon eclipsed 100 yards before the first half was over, I just didn’t have enough of him in the right spots.
Jaylen Waddle and Elijah Mitchell could be found in the gpp winning lineup in many of my contests (along with Fournette or Mixon) as they proved to be the must haves.
I am sorry for recommending things like Fitzpatrick, Cam Newton, Miles Sanders and Smooth Kenny G…I also hopped on the Ty Johnson play late Sunday morning… which was useless as something named Austin Walker inexplicably got a rushing TD and received as many targets (1) as Ty Johnson. Miles Sanders is probably the most frustrating thing in fantasy football. The dude is talented, like really talented, and the Eagles just cannot use him correctly.
As I said, doing gpps most times you will lose. I’ll accept my lumps and move on to next week!
I stayed away this week, since I couldn’t pay attention with family in town. I’m glad I did.
