INT. RECORDING STUDIO – DAY
The PRODUCER sits at his console looking incredibly vexed.
PRODUCER: I can’t believe he didn’t show up.
DJ 3000: Maybe he’s sick.
PRODUCER: In the middle of the summer? Come on.
DJ 3000: Perhaps…
PRODUCER: You and I both know it’s because he’s too hungover to get his ass in gear.
DJ 3000: [a few lights blink in grudging agreement]
PRODUCER: It’s not that I’m unsympathetic, it’s pretty standard for a holiday in the middle of the week. I just wish he would have called. Or texted, even.
DJ 3000: It’s about time to start, do you want me to handle things?
PRODUCER: Nah, I got it. [punches button] Good morning and welcome to Request Line! Our special guest for today wasn’t able to make it, so we’ll get straight to the music. Today’s topic is “intros and outtros”. We’re talking about songs that feature solos either in the beginning or the end of the song, rather than in the middle as is traditional. I’ll get us rolling with a couple of examples.
