That first full work week of January is a beast. After the slow wind-down of the holidays one gets to slump into work knowing that there are 50, 49 or 48 more of these (depending on your religion, of course). This may only be relevant for those that have been in the work force for 25+ years. Certainly it’s not for them’s that are working their “dream job” [spits on ground] I HATE YOU AND YOUR POLLYANNA ATTITUDE! Maybe I’m just down because after 5 debt-free years the wife and I decided to take on a mortgage again. Consumer debt drives the economy, right? I’m just doing my part, right?GAH!

There’s very little going on pro roundball-wise, just Atl and Chi playing. In the ice-related sports Was/NYI is where it’s at and Min, Dal, LA and Det are also showing their wares. The college hoopiness is bringing us MSU and their southern brother without a mother, SMU. Pur/Mich is the game to watch although a certain few commenters might vote for Lou/NCST. One other interesting game is Ari/UCLA-despite their 9-6 record the Bruins have taken down some weighty teams.
