So, remember when last week Don T stepped in for the still vacationing Maestro and did a great job. Well, prepare to be underwhelmed.

So, we’ve now got a Canadian talking about a Canadian league and playing Canadian music. This will make the CTRC (Canadian TV and Radio watchdog) happy. And I do love being given a template to use, it made this go much easier for me.
In league news this week:
- The Elks have lost their President and CEO Victor Cui as he’s decided to step down and focus on his family.
- Shaq is back! Not that one, Shaquille Richardson (DB) has resigned with the Stamps
- Hamilton has announced a buncha stuff to do during Grey Cup weekend. There’s some deal where one can stay in Niagara and then get bussed in for the stuff. Tell me your city sucks without telling me your city sucks. Note that the bus ride in good traffic would be about 45 minutes. Might as well stay in Toronto and take the (GO) train in for better options all around.
Onto the games!
WEEK 10 RECAPS:
Winnipeg vs. Edmonton :
The Peg came back from a 22 deficit to beat the Elks ahaha. Zack Collaros being pulled for Dru Brown seems to be the catalyst that started the comeback. The Bombers defence also made some adjustments to the scheme in the second and only allowed 1 first down and 30 yard in that quarter.
PICK: Edmonton ( Don T), Winnipeg (GTD)
RESULT: Winnipeg 38-29
Saskatchewan vs. Montreal :
Without Cody Fajardo this Als still rode rough over the riders. haha. Not helping the Riders was their recent travel schedule: Vancouver, back to Regina for practice, out to Halifax to play the Argos, back home to practice before playing the Redblacks at home, then turning around a few days later to travel to Monreal and play the Alouettes.
PICK: Montreal ( Don T and GTD)
RESULT: Montreal 41-12
Calgary vs. BC :
I did manage to watch a bit of the game as I knew I needed to do these game write ups. However, it was the Calgary coach walking off the field at half time just before it went to commercial. I then totally forgot about the game or was distracted by something shiny, and didn’t go back. Looking at the boxscores, prob best that I didn’t go back.
PICK: BC ( Don T and GTD)
RESULT: BC 37-9
Ottawa vs. Toronto :
These teams have now met 262 times. That’s kinda crazy. Anyway this was the game of the week with multiple lead changes and TD’s from the offence, defence and special teams play. Sweet. One stat this did jump out to me was that the Tirana wire recievers had 169 yards of 417 total receiving yards after the catch. That’s just some poor coverage.
PICK: Ottawa ( Don T), Toronto (GTD)
RESULT: Toronto 44-31
BYE: Hamilton (-)
WEEK 11 PREVIEWS
Edmonton (0-9) vs. Hamilton (3-5), Thursday, August 17th, 7:30 PM EDT (TSN, CBSSN, CFL+):
Until Edmonton can win, going to pick against the Browns\LionsElks. Maybe with the new Prezy and CEO they will play better, but i doubt it.
PICK: the Hammer
Winnipeg (7-2) vs. Calgary (3-6), Friday, August 18th, 9:00 PM EDT (TSN, CFL+):
I expect Winterpeg to continue to fight for first in the Westest, so will stomp the Stamps
PICK: The Peg
Montreal (5-3) vs. Ottawa (3-6), Saturday, August 19th, 7:00 PM EDT (TSN, CBSSN, CFL+):
PICK: Should be a close one, but thing Montreal has a bit more.
BC (7-2) vs. Saskatchewan (4-4), Sunday, August 20th, 7:00 PM EDT (TSN, CBSSN, CFL+):
BC will also need to win to keep first in the Westest, so should ride roughshod over the Riders.
PICK: BC
BYE: Toronto (7-1)
