Your “Not So Calm Before The Storm” Monday Night Football Open Thread

I’ve been on pins and needles all day, peeking at graphs and charts and pies and polls and it’s all too much. Safely ensconced (word isn’t used nearly enough) up here in The Canada, the repercussions for the likes of Beerguy, GameTime, Litre, myself and others won’t be anything approaching what youse folks will have to endure if things go sideways-hairy tomorrow. But you fellas/ladies have grown on us and we wish the best for you in a shitty situation. Over and above everything, stay safe.

Fallout:

-Step right up,  Mr. 3rd string rookie qb that will likely be in over his head. With Minshew down, a certain Jake Luton is getting starter reps and with the Jags Sherman-ing it they should go to him rather than the league’s longest-necked ruminant.

-The Niners swapped lb’s with the Saints by sending Kwon Alexander to New Orleans for hasn’t-played-a-down-yet Kiko Alonso. San Franny is in salary cap hell and needed some breathing room-getting 13 million bucks in relief. They’ve got a mere 25(!) unrestricted free agents to be dealt with this offseason.

-Injuries Ahoy! Jimmy G, Cal Ridley, Sir George Skittle and Kenny Golladay are among those banged up.

TO THE GAME!

Bucs/Giants:

-Look, I don’t know what to say about this game-Brady is going to get the ballwashing of a lifetime despite the fact that Tampa’s D has the more impressive unit. They’re ranked 7th vs the pass and 1st vs the run.

-Let’s just say that of all the teams in the “Mommy, tell me I look pretty!” conference that is the NFC, the Bucs are likely the team (at this point) that gets their faces smashed in against the juggernaut AFC squad that survives the gauntlet of quality teams on offer.

-If you need Slayton to save your week there’s literally an outside chance that he will do so. Of the three wr’s that have gone for 100+ vs Tampa, all of them played on the outside. (nary a slotter among them)
