- So it’s not like DK Metcalf taking a flyer on making the sprint team – Goodwin has a pedigree in the event.
- If he makes the team, he would miss the start of training camp.
- Bears camp opens on July 27; the long jump is scheduled for August 2nd.

The salary impacts of COVID were partially unveiled today, and Dr. Cole Beasley had better take notes. His friends at the NFLPA signed off on this:
- Players who opt-out of the season will only get the league stipend if they have been diagnosed “high risk”.
- Last year, all players who sat out qualified.
- Vaccinated players who have to sit out due to exposure will receive their per-game roster bonuses.
- e.g., Active List roster bonus, Active/Inactive List roster bonus
- Non-vaccinated players who catch COVID will not receive any contract monies for the period they are absent.
- This means teams can challenge whether a COVID-19 infection is football related for players who haven’t been vaccinated.
