WordPress is a little…um…different this morning. So, my format is as well.
Just going to comment on all the guys I wrote up. I lost on DK and SD, but I won on FD.
Mahomes didn’t quite go nuclear; he put up 27.98 DK points which was over the necessary 2.7x. That being said I was hoping for more though. His 2 INTs and 2 rushing scores by Williams kept Mahomes from reaching a true ceiling game.
You would think that with a 34 – 6 final Lamar Jackson would have done quite well. Nope. Didn’t use him anywhere so it worked out.
Didn’t use Herbert either. The entire Charger offense looked like puppy poo yesterday. I used Ekeler on SD and I have regrets.
Joe Burrow did Joe Burrow things and was fine to use. Lions were not competitive enough to get Burrow to rack up more though.
Taking a victory lap on the Panthers v Vikings. It did not go exactly as I thought as Sam Darnold was close to a non participant considering the score, but Cousins was the highest scoring QB of the day and not surprisingly was the QB in my best gpp lineup of the day.
Taylor Heinicke does look limited as a QB. This was not a difficult matchup and because of that I overly invested in WFT WR1, and Heinicke couldn’t get him the ball. I will have to reevaluate this QB.
The entire Viking offense was quite efficient and thus Dal Cook got his. Too bad I didn’t use him anywhere.
Zeke ended up being involved enough in the pass game to provide value, but essentially right in that his upside was limited this week.
Jonathan Taylor was the highest scoring RB of the week, and I wished I used him in more than one lineup.
Mixon was the 2nd highest scoring RB of the week. I had him in my cash lineup on FD and he is the reason I mad money there.
I lucked out, kinda, on not using Hunt. With the game being at 4 and Hunt being questionable, I just chose to avoid this situation, even though I was quite close to using him.
Hubbard did okay, but he didn’t get to 2.7x. Since he was in my DK lineup, it simply wasn’t good enough.
I called the correct game script for McKissic. It also didn’t hurt that Gibson has a fractured shin and generally not used well by the WFT. McKissic does seem game flow dependent, so I would only go here if you’re sure WFT will play from behind. Going up against KC seemed like a no brainer in that department.
There is one play that happened over the weekend that cost me everything. When he had already racked up 97 rush yards and 1 TD, Hebert broke free for a 16 yard rushing TD that was an 12 point play. It was a TD which is 6 points, and it would have put him over 100 yards rushing, which comes with a 3 point bonus. The zebras threw the yellow and nabbed the Bear center for holding. SMFH.
Davante Adams didn’t get in the endzone and therefore would’ve sunk your lineup if you used him at his price.
Tyreek dressed and was a little banged up which made me love Kelce more. In any event, I was out on Robinson and Hardman other than a couple gpps where they were only marginally helpful.
The answer was Cooper Kupp.
DJ Moore is the only safe WR on the Panthers. Sure, Anderson lucked into a TD this week, but only 3 receptions against the worst CB in league is a fucking joke, and one that isn’t all that funny either.
Terry McLaurin…oh man. He’s elite, and should have been fine. I think the mistake I made though is playing someone in his position who was dealing with an injury. Again though, reevaluation is needed here.
Ja’Marr Chase is dope. He didn’t get into the endzone like I said he would though…sorry.
Cooks did what I thought and what I hoped.
I have played Pittman a total of twice, and on both occasions he crapped the bed in good matchups. Here I definitely underestimated the effect that Hilton being reinserted into the lineup would have.
Meyers only had 9 points and still hasn’t scored an NFL TD after the one he did catch this week was nullified. This is not a safe cash play going forward.
ARob got a little more run, but not the necessary 2.7x. Additionally, apparently Rodgers stills owns the Bears.

Was I right about Sterling Shepard or did I get lucky that Toney got injured? At 1:04 Eastern Toney had 6 fantasy points then got hurt….might have been a huge day for him otherwise.
As a punt, Bateman was okay depending on where you spent up elsewhere.
Kelce was 1 yard, 1 stinking yard away from 100 yards receiving, and I missed the 3 point bonus on DK.
Both Andrews and Seals-Jones got into the endzone. As a reminder, TEs, and this applies to both of these guys, need TDs to hit value. Kelce hit value without one.
The top 3 Defenses I listed did fine, especially the Colts, the other two not so much. I also landed on the Browns, which was unwise.
Things I missed:
Cedee Lamb…he’s so good. Didn’t expect that this week vs the Pats, but he also benefitted from an OT game, which, if I’m being fair, so did Cousins.
The Denver v LV game. I did say that Olson would still run an offense that Gruden had and increase the pace of play…this benefitted Carr, and surprisingly Ruggs.
Kyler had a good day. I just don’t have good experience with this guy. When I play him, he sucks, when I don’t he makes me eat my words. He’s basically like Michael Pittman. Also, apparently James Conner is the lead back here?
Darrell Williams. It’s funny, I played this guy in many of my seasonal leagues but not in DFS. The actual hell is wrong with me?
Darell Henderson. I am not playing a Sean McVay RB in cash at any point whatsoever. Yes, I have baggage here, and yes, I am unapologetic about it.
A thought….
I need to get better a leaving myself an out. All the sites I use empty “late swap.” What that means is that you can edit your lineup later in contests as a means to put yourself in a better situation later. I have a friend who pivoted off Kareem Hunt and Jakobi Meyers for Cedee Lamb and Javonte Williams. The point is that going into the four o’clock games, my friend was behind the cash line, so he moved off the chaulkier Hunt and it wont him the day.
Im curious as to if you’re up or down for the season to date. Not looking necessarily for dollar amounts, more if your playing with winnings and not or with your own money
That very same holding call (wiping out the 2nd Herbert TD run) saved my ass in BOTH leagues.
I brought up the notion that Justin Herbert was ‘matchup proof’ and that’s why he shit the bed yesterday. I apologize.
Does some school or university offer advanced degrees in this arcane discipline? I’m assuming you possess one.
The late swap seems like a tease, though, depending on the matchups.
