Monday Open Thread – Warhammer 40k Psi Titans

Let’s see, where were we, ah, yes Titans.  Last week we introduced the Adeptus Mechanicum’s most fearsome weapons – the Titans.  This week we are going to look at a singular type of Titan – the Psi-Titan which is probably the most unusual of the Titans due to the fact that the Princepts is a damned psyker – meaning a psyker who will not work within the Imperiums rules for psykers.  Well the psyker is not really the Princepts for a few reasons:

1) his brain has been surgically altered to remove all motor function to the limbs, the ability to outwardly communicate, the ability to concentrate which combined just make the psyker a passenger in his own body

2) all limbs and organs considered redundant are also removed

3) he has been slaved to a blank “also known as a null – due to them having no psychic presence at all plus they suppress all psychic and warp energies causing psyker and demons to become helpless around them.  The psyker can not do anything to the blank and is fully subjugated to the blank.

Now all of that is fittingly gruesome as this is Warhammer, but the reason for doing it other than tradition, fun, or glorifying the Emperor is because the psyker powers all the Titans weapons pretty nasty and all are from the Dark Age of Technology.  The Psi-Titans can project waves of fear, hopelessness, and utter despair.  The hidden part is that their life force is being leeched away by the psyker, which can kill in a matter of seconds over a large area.  Or telekinesis is used to throw buildings at the opponents or just flatten them.  The weapons have even been known to cause temporal distortions in battle which makes this the last place I or anyone would ever be found.  The most fearsome weapons is the Sinistramanus Tenebrae, which is basically a psi-cannon that breaches the warp and destroys everything it hits.

These things are rare, no one is sure how many there are, well except for the Collegia Titanica but that is probably extremely sensitive information.
