The Goose Island Black Friday release has always seemed like a trap to me. I’ve never not found their shit later in the week, BUT! Your local bottle shops may be dropping other shit that’s unrelated to Anheuser-Busch Goose Island to compliment the release; I know a lot of places here do that. And that can be real good, especially if you’re in, like, the best beer state in the entire country oh god I’m so fucking jealous
Yeah, last year I was able to find a regular Bourbon Co. Stout and a Barleywine a ways after the release date, so it’s not so much about that as it is an excuse to go see if they have the Doppel and finally pick up that Victory Moon Glow you have me curious about.
All I ask is: If you don’t care for the Moonglow, please don’t abandon doppelbocks altogether. There are much, much better ones.
