Now, I have to admit, it would be relatively easy to have done the Giants again. Soon-to-be-ex-coach McAdoo lit NYC twitter aflame with his decision to bench Eli just to see what he has in Geno Smith (nothing) and Davis Webb (whiteness). And GODDAMN! did Twitter respond

So much so, in fact, that #FireMcAdoo became the #1 trend on Twitter, non-Avengers division

And, of course, there has to be a lunatic or two.

But I already covered the Giants, and since they’ve engaged their “tire fire protocol” there’s entirely too much rage to survey without succumbing to night terrors. So, I will instead choose a team that has recently turned a 5-0 start into a 6-4 record. A team that has fallen on hard times

I’m sorry, Mr. Rhodes. What would you call a team that beat the Patriots & Eagles to start the season but now can’t overcome the Giants in a field goal kicking contest? A team that lost to the Bills at home, despite them having their own QB tire fire a week before?

I accept your apology.
Now, onto the task at hand. I think we have all shaken our heads at how the wheels have come off the Chiefs season since they started 5-0. It has taken some magical effort by Andy Reid to turn talk of Super Bowl contention into rumours of his possible dismissal at the end of the year. But I would posit that how this week has gone on social media perfectly encapsulates the schneid the team is now on.
But you’d never know if from the Chiefs’ website,

A basic set-up. It does the job, but doesn’t really take a vested interest in the fan’s online experience. But they do allow comments on “news” stories, and the loss was the one everyone took to in earnest.

They could save their money to buy dictionaries, or a dictionary app. All these comments are missing is a “STAND FOR THE ANTHEM!11!!”. But it seems being a grammar & CAPITAL LETTER Nazi patriot is par for the course in the 255th-ranked (out of 261) school district in Missouri:

But they didn’t really cut to the heart of the matter.

Those who watched can testify – under oath, if required – that it was an awful game. I recall the Chiefs have four three-and-outs in the first quarter. It was an endurance just to continue watching. But at least I had nothing vested in the team’s success. Twitter was equally, scatologically inclined:

This was followed by the team’s self-examination.

and the fans invited them to look deeper into themselves, and possibly up an orifice or two.

Undeterred, Andy Reid opened himself up for criticism,

giving people the opportunity to do just that.

Oh, and in case you were wondering what “Mahomes time” is,

based on the clockface, it’s roughly half way through the third quarter.
You’d think, having just played Buffalo & witnessing what a self-inflicted QB controversy looks like, that Chiefs fans would keep riding the “Checkdown Express” either into the playoffs or the housecleaning of the off-season. But that’s what myopia & a belly full of ribs buys you – blindness to your own problems. Nevertheless, let’s see what the #FreeMahomes crowd has to say:

That pretty much sums everything up.
Sinjuri u sinjuri, your Kansas City Chiefs social media.
