Friday, February 28

– Collingwood Magpies v Melbourne Demons –

This one was closer than the score would indicate.  Demons started fast then faltered a bit.  But ultimately managed to hang on for the 20 pt win, 46-26.  The dozens (literally) of fans in attendance were impressed.

Saturday, February 29

-Richmond Tigers v Geelong Cats –

Goddammit, finally.  The Cats break through with an impressive performance.  Winless Richmond didn’t make it easy, though.  One team or another was coming out of this one with their first win of the season.  The other would remain losers of the ladder.  Thank you kitties for not screwing it up.

Best song ever.  Learn it.  Live it.  Love it.

– North Melbourne Kangaroos v Gold Coast Suns –

As I said last week, the ‘Roos are for real.  They’re also kinda pertty.  They’re not called the Debs for nothing.  They take down Gold Coast relatively easily, 47-34.

– West Coast Eagles v Western Bulldogs –

Heckuva match.  Seriously.  If Western had gotten a coupla breaks this one could have gone the other way.  As it is, West Coast hangs on for the 30-26 win.

Sunday, March 1

– Adelaide Crows v Carlton Blues –

Carlton gives Adelaide the Blues (hehehe….get it?)

– St. Kilda Saints v Freemantle Dockers –

Apparently the southern hemisphere lost their internet connection today.  As I type this it is a little after 1pm on Monday in Australia.  Still no highlight vids for this match posted.  But trust me, St. Kilda almost went on a winning streak.  Almost.  But here, have a picture instead…

VERY LATE EDIT:  Oh wait, here we go.

Saints almost made it two straight.  Almost.  ALMOST.  Dockers manage to hold them off, however, but just barely.  24-23.  Good game.

– Brisbane Lions v GWS Giants –

Still early afternoon on a Monday Down Under.  Still no highlights from this match either.  But I will say this.  Brisbane and Freemantle are seemingly on a collision course for the Premiership.  Time will tell, and North Melbourne will have something to say about it of course.  And I’d give Carlton an outside shot to slide in.

No, I didn’t mean THAT Carlton.  Ah, screw it.

Anywhoooo….

In spite of no available highlight vids for this one either, trust me, Brisbane jumped back on the winning bandwagon this week.  The unbeaten (but once tied) Lions are cruising again.  Good luck everybody else.  51-23 final vs the Giants.

Dontcha just hate it when those balls get that slippery?

Another VERY LATE EDIT:  And just like with St. Kilda and Freemantle above, it looks like the internet FINALLY kicked in for this one as well.
