Request Line: Good Riddance

INT. RECORDING STUDIO – DAY

The PRODUCER sits at his desk, watching youtube videos of fireworks displays.  DJ 3000 remains in his usual location, muttering to himself.

PRODUCER: Hey man, sorry that we couldn’t find anything that worked to get those stickers off.

DJ 3000: GRUMBLE GRUMBLE.

PRODUCER: They’re repainting the Jimmy & The Animal studio next week, we’ll check with the painters and see if they have any tips.

DJ 3000: GRUMBLE GRUMBLE.

PRODUCER: Or maybe just some extra paint we can slap on top of it.

DJ 3000: GRUMBLE GRUMBLE.

PRODUCER: Man with an attitude like that you could be coaching the Patriots…or, uh, retired, I guess.

Several of the lights on DJ 3000’s console flash and the fireworks video that the PRODUCER is looking at is supplanted by…

PRODUCER: WHAT??? No fucking way!

DJ 3000: I KNOW, RIGHT?

A different light on DJ 3000’s console begins flashing.

DJ 3000: LOOKS LIKE WE’VE GOT AN INCOMING CALL, YOU WANT TO TAKE IT?

PRODUCER: Sure, why not.

YEAH RIGHT: Hey guys!

PRODUCER: Oh, hey! Good to see you, how’s it hanging?

YEAH RIGHT: Great, I…[peers through the screen]…hey, DJ 3000, you look different.

DJ 3000: THE STICKERS? YEAH, GRUMBLE GRUMBLE.

YEAH RIGHT: No, well, I mean, yeah, but there’s something else…[squints]

The video component of the call suddenly cuts off.

DJ 3000: OH, JEEZ, SORRY ABOUT THAT.  TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES.

YEAH RIGHT: Can you guys still hear me?

PRODUCER: Yeah, we can hear you.

YEAH RIGHT: I was walking along the coast this morning listening to a podcast about how Britain tossed out their government on the same day that we tossed out their government and was thinking we could do “Good Riddance” as a topic.

DJ 3000: VERY COOL.

PRODUCER: Yeah, I like it.  Got something to get us rolling with?

YEAH RIGHT: Absolutely.  One of the granddaddies of them all.
