INT. RECORDING STUDIO – DAY

Once again, all the lights are off in the studio, and it’s completely silent.  The studio lights come on…

…and in the hallway that leads to the studio a series of frantic footsteps can be heard. 

— [DOOR FLIES OPEN] —

HUNTER RENFROW: [tossing his bike helmet and backpack onto the couch and making his way directly over to the soundboard] I’m here, I’m here!

DJ 3000′: HEY, NOT BAD, WE’VE GOT A FULL THREE MINUTES UNTIL AIR TIME, THAT’S MUCH BETTER THAN USUAL.

HUNTER RENFROW: Well, I’ve been trying to do some self-improvement.  Been training again – got my forty time back down to within two-tenths of my college time.

DJ 3000′: I SAW YOUR BLUESKY POST.  GOOD WORK.

HUNTER RENFROW: Speaking of which…you wouldn’t know anything about this, would you?

DJ 3000′: [whistles innocently]

HUNTER RENFROW: Oh come on man, I’m supposed to have a tryout with the Steelers in two weeks, I can’t have them thinking that I’m retired. Is this payback for the whole Runestaff/Fight Club thing?

DJ 3000′: LOOKS LIKE YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN USE THE INTERNET TO SPREAD MISINFORMATION.

HUNTER RENFROW: All right, all right, I’m sorry I did that.  Can we call a truce?

DJ 3000′: TRUCE.

HUNTER RENFROW: So what have we got on tap for a topic this week?

DJ 3000′: YOU MENTIONED THE STEELERS, ARE YOU READY TO TRY OUT THAT DIVISIONS THING YOU TALKED ABOUT DURING YOUR INTERNSHIP LAST SUMMER?

HUNTER RENFROW: Yeah!

DJ 3000′: YOU SHOULD PROBABLY EXPLAIN A LITTLE MORE ABOUT HOW IT’S GOING TO WORK.

HUNTER RENFROW: Okay.  So the idea is that folks request songs that have something to do with the four teams in a division, and every three weeks or so we’ll do a different one. I mean there’s a few songs that are explicitly about the teams themselves – like “The Super Bowl Shuffle”, and “Ram It” – but songs about the cities for the teams are okay too.  And then songs that have connections to players for whatever reason…I think we can be pretty broad with it and just have fun.

DJ 3000′: ALL RIGHT, LET’S GIVE IT A SHOT.  SINCE YOU MENTIONED THE STEELERS SHOULD WE START WITH THE AFC NORTH?

HUNTER RENFROW: Totally.  I’ve got a song from Cheekface that inspired the whole thing – let’s send this one out as a dedication to the team that just spread out Deshaun Watson’s cap hit Bobby Bonilla style so they’ll be paying him until 2029…and maybe beyond, with that dumpster fire of a franchise, who knows!
