This has been talked about for years in secret Taco Bell circles and it has finally been brought to life. Frankensteined to life, if you will, like all good Taco Bell food.
Starting on Thursday, November 6, 2025, Taco Bell locations started selling a full Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie. What is a Baja Blast Pie besides something wonderful that happened to me the last time I was in Ensenada?
It is a frozen pie flavoured like the signature Taco Bell beverage. As you may or may not remember, this was the result of a collaboration between Mountain Dew and Taco Bell where the Baja Blast flavour is exclusive to Taco Bell. Well, you can get it in bottles at retail stores, but only Taco Bell sells it as a fountain drink.
I got the notification on my phone and immediately opened the Taco Bell app to place an order. However, while it was featured in the front page, it was not listed on the Menu as an item to order. I placed a regular order and figured I’d ask at the Drive Thru. Sure enough, they had the pie in stock and I ordered one.
Keep in mind that they only sell the full pie. No slices. Here is a picture of the box it came in:
I LOVE the colour gradient on the box. Very in tune with the Baja Blast vibe. Here are your “nutritional” details and serving instructions:
As is usual with these things, they do take extra effort for “presentation” or whatever:
I decided to keep it in the freezer overnight and bring it to work on Friday as a treat for the people that report to me. Someone was nice enough to put it on a serving dish:
One of my team members volunteered to take the first slice:
Her thoughts:
These are her words:
Unsuspecting Team Member: What am I tasting? Is that pineapple? Mango? I don’t detect any coconut. What flavour is this?
No, she does not go to Taco Bell, so she had no idea what “Baja Blast flavour” meant. I asked her if it was good and she said it was. It was also “interesting”.
I cut myself a slice and dug in. There are three distinct parts to this pie: 1) the graham cracker crust, 2) the whipped “topping”, and 3) the Baja Blast filling.
The graham cracker is delicious and adds a nice bit of sweetness. The whipped “topping” is not too sweet and it’s actually pretty tasty. I halfway expected it to taste “fake” or like chemicals (as other frozen pies do) but it did not at all. The last part, the filling tasted great cold with a hint of tartness that nicely offset the sweetness of the crust and “topping”.
When I took a bite of the pie with all three elements, I was very pleasantly surprised. They make a really good combination. All the flavours worked really well together. I took subsequent bites with each of the individual components and each tasted good by themselves.
Alas, I devoured it quickly and did not get another slice because I wanted the others to try it.

The Verdict
Let’s do this in the form of questions, shall we?
- How much did it cost?
- Was it worth it?
- Would you buy it again?
My answers, in order:
- The full pie cost $19.99. Your local tax may differ.
- Absolutely. $20 for a full pie is pretty good considering I’ve seen pies with unique flavours go for twice that amount.
- It’s a limited time item, so I’m not sure if it will be around come Thanksgiving time. I may have to buy one soon and keep it in the freezer until then.
Bottom Line: If you have a potluck or dinner party you are hosting, I would absolutely get one for the novelty factor. Plus, people will be pleasantly surprised when they taste it. But yeah, I recommend you get one for yourself or your family.

What? And also, no.
I can honestly say I never expected to see a pie that color!
Just wait till you see the results in the toilet the next days!
The underwear and pants may take some unexpected fire. Best use laundromat so you don’t kill your clothes washer.
Pantene named it Color Of The Year 3126. (Because it will be the only color left)
