Sharkbait’s Cocktail of the Week: So Tired

Happy long weekend Friday everybody! This is gonna be a shorter post this week. I usually write these on Thursdays, and set it to run Friday morning. However, last night I just couldn’t bring myself to mix and write. I’ve got a good reason at least! Dad Sharkbait was in New York for the week on a work trip and I came down on Wednesday to meet him and another mutual work friend for a dinner. The one downside to this kind of trip is that it occurred at the last minute, and in order to not pay exorbitant train fares, I ended up returning on the 5:27 train out of New York. Which meant a 4am wakeup. Though that did not stop me from going out with my dad to meet some other people at a bar, as well as a rendezvous with Senor until about midnight.

Suffice it to say, I was beat by Thursday evening when I usually sit, and write. So I punted to this morning and I’m having an Irish (Mexican?) coffee. Just Kahlua and coffee, and some whipped cream because why not?

Easy, delicious, and a great start to a holiday weekend. It’s been a long time since I’ve had one of these. In fact I was rather surprised to even see some Kahlua in the cabinet. I added 2 ounces to my mug. Of which I don’t know how much coffee I put in there. Probably 7 oz? 8?

Man I really am phoning this one in this week aren’t I?

Oh well. The trip was worth it. I powered through the working day, still made dinner for the family and basically collapsed on the couch after the kids went to bed. Cocktailing was never realistically gonna happen. Despite a really strong temptation after finishing Taskmaster. I think I made the right call. The post would have been sub par, and plus I get to start the day with a drink now! I’ll call that a win. Back to normal next week. Enjoy the weekend.
