INT. BAEKJEONG RESTAURANT – DAY

The PRODUCER is seated at a table in a Korean barbecue restaurant in K-town drinking soju. The PRODUCER’s cellphone is face-up on the bar, revealing an open line to DJ 3000′. 

PRODUCER: [through a mouthful of half-chewed thinly sliced brisket] So what did you say this was called again?

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: IT’S CALLED – 이자 – PRONOUNCED “I CHA”. IT’S BASICALLY WHEN YOU HAVE A MEAL AND THEN IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW IT WITH A SECOND MEAL.  THEY HAD A THING ON THAT SHOW LOUIE WHERE THEY CALLED IT A “BANG BANG”.

PRODUCER: [continuing to stuff his face] Mmm.

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: IT’S GOOD, RIGHT?

The PRODUCER takes a sip – more of a gulp, really – of soju. 

PRODUCER: Definitely. Feel like I’m gonna end up like one of those characters in a K-Drama with like six empty bottles of soju on the table by the end.

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: EH, IT WOULDN’T BE THE END OF THE WORLD. THERE ARE SOME GREAT WORLD CUP GAMES ON THIS AFTERNOON. I SPECIFICALLY PICKED A PLACE WITH TV’S SO YOU’D BE ABLE TO ENJOY THEM.

PRODUCER: Oh, cool. I can’t help but feel like I’m getting a little distracted from my task, though.

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: LIKE I SAID, HUNTER AND I ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

PRODUCER: Yeah but I feel like I’m further away from the studio then I was before.

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: OH, NO. I RETCONNED THINGS SO THAT YOU’RE ACTUALLY CLOSER.

PRODUCER: Retconned?

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: YEAH, IT’S AN ABILITY I GAINED FROM A PLATINUM LOOT BOX IN AFTER I ESCAPED FROM THE TIME LOOP BUBBLE IN SEASON 7.

PRODUCER: Platinum loot box?

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: [forging ahead] SO YOU SEE YOUR FIRST MEAL WAS ACTUALLY AT CASA FINA RESTAURANT IN BOYLE HEIGHTS. CHECK IT OUT.

PRODUCER: I don’t understand, you’re saying that…

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: OH LOOK THE SERVER IS BACK WITH A PLATTER OF PORK BELLY! DOESN’T THAT LOOK DELICIOUS?

PRODUCER: Wait, don’t you try to distract me with…[trails off has he stares at the succulent pork belly]…stuff.

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: IN THE MEANTIME THIS WHOLE 이자 BUSINESS HAS GIVEN ME A GREAT IDEA FOR A REQUEST LINE TOPIC.

PRODUCER: [to the server]…and some more kimchi, please…

DJ 3000′ [O/S]: WE’RE GOING TO DO SONGS BY BANDS WHOSE NAME FOLLOWS THE FORMAT OF “X and the Y’s”. SUCH AS…
