Week 10 is here.
506 maps are up: Week 10 Broadcast Maps
Byes are Falcons, Colts, Chargers, and 9ers.
Primetime games are as follows:
TNF: Bills @ Jets
SNF: Cards @ Seahawks
MNF: Texans @ Bengals
The Thursday and Sunday matchups are decent. Though I’m half expecting Jets-Bills to be the unwanted sequel to those awful Jets-Ravens games from 4-5 seasons ago, you remember the primetime games where offense went to die. Cards can probably quash Seattle’s attempts to take the division with a win.
As for Sunday we have an 8:3 early to late game ratio. The late afternoon games are definitely better than the earlier ones.
CBS early features Steelers-Browns in a surprisingly large chunk of the US, I don’t think the republic wants Landry Jones-Johnny Manziel duel that much affiliates. Bears-Rams have Zona, parts of Nevada, Washington and Idaho in addition to their core markets. I guess Vegas put a large prop bet on Catler getting murdered by a dirty hit. Can’t explain why this one has those specific secondary markets otherwise. Jags-Ravens is wisely limited to their native markets. Dolphins-Eagles has a grab-bag allocation. I think that one is being broadcasted in more of Virginia than in Pennsylvania. If I could understand PA’s byzantine liquor laws I might understand the rationale behind that one.
CBS late features Pats-Giants in a smaller part of the country than I would have imagined. Donks-Chiefs is the other part of the country but the blues offensive into the Whiskey and lard land was a staggering success.
Fox is inflicting Packers-Lions on more of the populace than civilized men should do. Same problem for Cowboys-Bucs, I don’t know what those poor bastards in upstate NY did to deserve this. Again with Saints-Redskins, come guys why do you hate the tri-state area this much. Eugene, Oregon gets to bask once more in the bounty of a Titans game. It’s like that portion in a slasher movie where the protagonist thought they escaped or killed the psycho-murderer only to be proven mistaken. Fox late features Raiders-Vikings in a limited amount of the country. Apparently the affiliates refuse to believe either team is actually capable this year.
Raiders are once more honored as the FEMA quarantine game with the most randomized distribution of broadcasts.
Illinois and Kentucky both win the Holy Roman Empire State with 4 games each broadcasted within state lines.
Enjoy.
