NFL Notes:
- Obviously, the big news from the weekend is the Pats signing Cam Newton to a one-year deal.
- With incentives, it’s worth up to $7.5 million.
- This will be the ultimate Belichick “it’s the system, not the player” move, as he has Newton, Jarrett Stidham AND Brian Hoyer at his disposal.
- Kurt Warner has a thinkpiece where he tries to relate to where Cam is.
- Other Patriots news: they’ve been penalized for the video incident in Cincinnati last year.
- They’ve been fined $1.1 million and lost a 2021 third-round draft pick.
- The Patriots’ team production crew also is barred from filming games during the 2020 season.
- The NFL also banned David Mondillo, who was suspended by the Patriots at the time of the NFL investigation, from NFL facilities until further notice. Before the league’s discipline, Mondillo was terminated by the Patriots.
- They’ve been fined $1.1 million and lost a 2021 third-round draft pick.
- Noted immunologist Mark Davis questions whether the NFL will need a bubble.
- “You can keep players from the fans, but you can’t keep players from the players,” Raiders owner Mark Davis said in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
- He is also not a big fan of keeping eight rows clear & selling ads, believing that keeping fans away will cost more than revenue.
- “You think I want to sell advertising on the Black Hole seats?” he said of the plan that would cost him up to 3500 seats per game in their inaugural Las Vegas season.
Found an end-of-Pride month funny:
A transphobe, a racist, a homophobe and an anti-semite walk into a bar.

MXC Monday – Episode 201: Food Service Professionals vs. Hobbyists
“It’s Arts & Crafts versus Carts & Hash”. This episode has “Wall Bangers” and “Log Drop”, so if you enjoy Asian head trauma this episode is for you. There’s more CTE in this game than the NFL admits to in a year.
