Some of you may remember this from last year–kommenters really came through big (OH YEAH!)–but I’m fundraising for the Bike MS Oregon ride again. I’ve done the ride–100 miles the first day, 50 the next–five times over the last six years or so, and it’s a great time. Unfortunately, thanks to a number of factors, I’m not going to be able to make it down and bike all those miles this year. It’s kind of a bummer.
HOWEVA, I still want to support the cause–combating MS and providing a better quality of life for those affected by it–and am still aiming to do some proper fundraising for it. I’m going to post the donation link below, and I really hope you will consider donating whatever you can.
While this year I can’t put on rainbow snakeskin hot pants and ride in them, I can at least entertain some sort of other humiliation. So, let’s hear it! I do have a goal in there of raising $2,000, and while I doubt I’ll be able to achieve that in time… fuck it, I’m going deep. Let’s go for as much as we can. Let’s get some ridiculous ideas going for each of the following tiers:
- $250 (the minimum required)
- $500
- $1,000
- $1,500
- $2,000
These could be done now, this year, or be held over to next year’s journey. Also, I have a digital download code for the ENTIRE 60’s Batman TV series that I haven’t used, and I will enter everyone who donates into a raffle for it–with extra entries for bigger donations, say, every $10? It’s so worth it. I also have a bunch of digital download codes for a variety of movies I haven’t used, so those may come into play as well.
I hope you’ll consider donating. The leader of the team I’ve been on for the ride has MS and she and her husband are close to having their first child. Thanks to the MS Society, she’s had a much easier go of life, and now she’s ready to pay attention to the next generation–so let’s help.

Count me in. I’m about to go under the dentist’s drill (PHRASING! ), but when I get out, the donation will be on its way.
Done.
If you reach two grand, I demand rainbow garments be worn.
If we reach two grand, I’ll go head to toe rainbows.
Rainbow Cobra Commander?
OH HELL YES
Had a meet-up with a dozen or so old classmates a few Saturdays ago and found out: A) One of the gals has MS.
ii) She lives like fifteen minutes away from me.
3) She is juuuust about to reach the point where she will be unable to work and is heart broken at the thought of going on disability.
$) So fuck MS.
It’s crazy how many people with MS it turned out I was directly or almost-directly connected to, and while some people can mostly get by with it at times, others are really really nailed by it.
Thank you for the donation!
A donation of $2,000 will get OSZ to answer the question of whether or not watching ‘Magic Mike XL’ will make you gay, rather than screaming “FUCK YOU” over and over again.
/spoiler alert, it won’t.
So…$50 could get one a public acknowledgment that John Elway is the best QB of all-time, and perhaps an even better human being? Neigh?
$50 could get me to say that Elway would have been the most legendary Triple Crown winner had he gone into the sport he was born and bred for instead of football.
But I could actually say some good things about the Broncos for that amount.

Ah. Well. Ahem.
Here’s a tidbit you won’t find in any Chargers preview I may or may not write: the Chargers are not going to win the AFC West without Peyton Manning initiating a self-destruct program. It’s not our year and McCoy does not have the chops to compete at a modern playoff level. So, if an AFC West team was going to win a Super Bowl next year, I’d want it to be the Broncos–one, because they have way better uniforms than the other non-Chargers teams; two, because HAHAHA Raiders and Alex Smith is never going to go long with passes or in the playoffs; and, three, because then we could finally move Peyton into a coaching position and off the field.
Methinks PeyPey definitely wants to go out on top (insert Aaron Rodgers joke), and I think there’s a 0% chance he comes back if he so much as makes the Super Bowl this coming season. Realistically, only a 50/50 shot he makes it through this one alive anyway with this lousy goddamned OL.
And hooooolllllyyyy shit, are the Donks ever gonna blow goats if’n they try to get by with Brock Osweiler. So get ready for lots of battles for 9-7 AFCW titles with the Raiders (hey, someone else has to be in the picture) when those robot parts expire.
/looks into crystal ball
The future of the AFC West is… mediocre.
I think the Chiefs are the best suited for future consistency, and I’m actually more scared of the Raiders than I have been for a while. Derek Carr, in fact, has given them a bit of a boost (what a weird sentence to write), although I’m curious to see how other teams will adapt to him now that they have a season’s footage to work with.
SPOILER ALERT: SD’s line is just okay for pass blocking and utter shit for run blocking, and all we really have for RBs are undersized guys, so by week 4 or 5 defenses will be shutting down our run game, forcing Rivers to try to gung ho it to our undersized receivers and that’ll be that. Also, 60% of our starters will be injured by that time because our coaches believe in modern sports medicine practices as much as they believe in modern sports analytics.

I thought this was going to be about Microsoft. But fuck this MS, too.
I was just curious what sort of cases came under the purview of the Wallet Files.
Aww, dang. Fixed, but it will live on forever in the url.
Things in my wallet file: insurance cards, the one coffee shop punch card, some receipt from two years ago, three pennies (two shiny, one slightly green), and 2/3rds of a paperclip.
She’s sort of a stickler Meseeks.
What a second… I am petty sure you, too, are a stickler Meeseeks, no?
What’s the timetable on this?
I think through the first couple of weeks of August or so. The ride itself is on August 1st, but they let you keep fundraising a little past that.
