Just a short post to facilitate some discussion.

Now that our resident vidja gamers have had a chance to roam the wastes of a post-apocalyptic Boston in Fallout 4, how is it? How early into the game do you discover the apocalypse started when the Patriots actually did go 19-0? On a scale of 1 to Andrew Luck, just how frighteningly hideous are the bloodthirsty mutants?

What I’m trying to ask my fellow Commentists, is it getting your drive hard? If you haven’t been able to enjoy it quite yet, then what are you playing this weekend?

I loved playing Metal Gear Solid IV but I got so intimidated by the amount of time it would suck up, I haven’t fired it up in weeks. Also been binging on Star Wars Battlefront. I was completely put off at first with how stripped down the game is, but I gotta admit it’s addicting gameplay and beautiful graphics + STAR WARS is just making it too hard to stop playing.

Saturdays are when I get most of my gaming done, especially since I’ve been playing a lot of Metal Gear lately and so can’t really just fire it up for an hour and a half in the evening in case I hit cutscene-zone at a bad time. Today was errands in the morning and nap in the PM, so just going to get started now. Since Saturday evenings are split by Dr. Who though, it’ll be Grozny Grad (last time through) before Who and either more MGS3 after or Revengeance if cyborg killin’ needs to happen.

While Fallout 4 would be on my must-play list (and, with a Pats fan in the house, the troll potential could be quite good), I don’t have a machine that can play it at the moment. If that should change, I’ll pick it up.

For whatever reason, I sat thru the entire debacle of Arkham Knight for pc without refunding my preorder. Just a few days ago, I got the Origins Blackgate game (or whatever it’s called) that was the PS Vita/mobile port to pc for free – and also since I just recently powered thru all the current episodes of Gotham – I decided to run thru the Arkham series in chronological story order for this month.

Because I’m Batman.

My biggest complaint with the game is that there aren’t more options to interact with Dogmeat, positive reinforcement stuff like “give treat” or “pet” when he’s a being a good pup by dismember ing a ghoul or finding some hidden loot.
Aside from that, perfect game 10/10 would vault again

I was playing Halo 5 on legendary but the final battle with the Warden Eternal is so difficult as to make it boring. “Oh look, I’m dead again in 20 seconds” so I broke it off.
Now playing the Morg City zombies map on Call of Duty. If you can hook up with three other people it is really, really fun. Graphics are amazing, soundtrack is really cool and while it’s difficult to complete tasks it’s not difficult to be aggravating.
I am hearing a lot of good things about FO4. I’ve never played any of the other ones; are the necessary to really enjoy this version?

No. The games are similar in controls, etc., but they all take place in different areas in different years. So far I’m finding FO4 to be pretty amaze-balls.

I’m really enjoying Fallout 4 so far. I’m mostly building up Sanctuary and occasionally wandering around. I’m really ADHD when I play these games, though. I get onto one quest, then I see Swan, and I try to murder him, and then I see some super mutants and kill them, then I see a house in the distance, so I wander over there, and I never get my quests done. Dogmeat is my partner in crime, too – he finds the most random fights and shit to do.

Pretty much what I’m doing. I’m more into scavenging what I can to build up Lexington than kill beasties (most of which are quite capable of killing me back).

My sole survival tip so far: Shoot ghouls in the leg. They go down quicker that way, and can be finished off with a bullet to the brainpan.

I’m playing lots of Assassin’s Creed : Syndicate
I don’t give a shit about the backstory Templar crap, but historically based open world stealth/fighting? Hells yeah. The only thing that kinda bugs me, and this is true of all the Assassin’s Creed games, I feel kinda silly running around essentially doing parkour.

My gaming group plays an oneline Cards Against Humanity clone every so often, which has all of the expansions plus a mess of user created sets for things like PAX, Game Grumps… maybe a brony one for some stupid fucking reason. We all hop into our mumble channel, stock up on our favorite vice, and talk shit all evening. It’s good times.
