Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes. – Oscar Wilde
NFL Notes:
- Someone must have broken into Archie’s ‘juice’ cupboard, because Eli declares the Giants are “definitely” a playoff team in 2016.
- The NFL released its roster of officials for the 2016 season. Among the ‘highlights’:
- there are 124 officials total
- all 17 refs are back, including 28-year veteran Walt Coleman.
- one retired – rumoured to be Linesman George Hayward
- two former players work as officials
- Steve Freeman, who is on Jeff Triplette’s crew
- Phil McKinnely, who is on Bill Vinovich’s crew
- Sarah Thomas remains the only woman official
- finally, as previously reported, due to massive fuckup-ery, Pete Morelli is getting an entirely new crew.
- ESPN tried to parse out the new “catch rule”. Clear as mud!
- Brett Favre referred to Derek Carr as “more polished” than he was at that age. But he needs to up his dick-pic game if he wants to be considered “elite”.
Finally, the Top-10 of the Top-100 Players was released last night. No great surprise that Cam was #1.
Only eighteen days until training camps open. 18.
