God Dammit, America

You really did it.  You elected. Donald.  Fucking. J. Fucking. Trump. As president of the United States of America.

I mean, I just typed that.  President Donald J Trump.  Listen up, you stupid, mouth-breathing, closeted or out of the closet racists and cowards.  You have been hoodwinked by a master scam artist in the greatest con ever perpetrated on our people.

I love this country.  I was born here, I was raised here, and I’ll die here.  Probably sooner and poorer now, thanks to your short-sightedness, but yes, it will be here.  I’ve been afforded all of the luxuries of a middle-class, white upbringing in the Midwest, which is to say that my life is -pretty good, and probably won’t change a ton thanks to this.

However, the lives of my friends will change.  If you know a Muslim, black, gay, transgendered, Hispanic, Asian person, or frankly a woman, keep an eye out.  The vote last night clearly spoke that a small minority of voters (but spaced properly to win the #RIGGED electoral college and congressional districts, of course) just don’t give a shit about their rights.

They voted with fear of the other, a terror of the unknown and different, and of other people getting what they have.  Instead of working to make everyone have a great lie, they chose to try to protect themselves and their place.

A lot of this election boiled down to the truth.

Donald J Trump is allergic to the truth, in all of its many forms.  In that, he is not alone in American politics.  However, he took it to a whole new extreme.  Donald J Trump, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED FUCKING STATES, lied to giant crowds of people multiple times per day.  When journalists disproved his claims, his supporters threatened them with violence.

He made crazed claims of a rigged election while his party participated in the most despicable voter suppression campaigns since the ‘60’s.  He accused Hillary’s foundation of corruption, after taking money donated to him for charity and spending it on paintings of himself, Tim Tebow (!!!??!?!?) autographed helmets, and paying off lawsuits.

He lied about crowds of Muslims celebrating on 9/11.

He lied about Hillary Clinton getting indicted.

He lied about Hillary starting birtherism.

He lied about crime statistics.

He somehow claimed that black people have never had it worse.  And people bought it!

He’s an Anti-Vaxxer, which is a lie in and of itself.

He denies climate change.

He claimed that Canadian booger-eater Ted Cruz’s dad helped kill JFK.

He claimed that Obama and Hillary founded ISIS.

He claimed that we were banning Christians from entering the country.

He said that Syrian refugees weren’t being vetted, when OF COURSE THEY ARE

Somehow, Hillary was going to let in 650 million refuges.  SERIOUSLY.  PEOPLE BELIEVED THAT.

Made up crime statistics about immigrants and inner-cities to scare his rubes.

He claimed that Ferguson, literally 15 miles from my house, is one of the most dangerous places on Earth.  I never realized I was Snake fucking Plissken.

He claimed that 81 percent of white homicide victims are killed by black people. This came from a stupid meme that he retweeted from a neo-Nazi outlet.  It cited a made-up institution called the “Crime Statistics Bureau — San Francisco.” For serious, 82 percent of white murder victims are killed by other white people.

I don’t even have time to talk about his voter fraud claims.  This was a blatant attempt to suppress the votes of minorities and the poor, and his voters, many of whom are poor, ate it up.  He claimed massive voter fraud, and the only documented fraudulent voter was a goddamned Trump supporter.

He refused to release his tax returns, lying about why he wouldn’t.  Then he claimed that he donated millions to charity that nobody seems to have records of.  He bragged that he was smart to not pay taxes.  Yet, poor white people with no jobs feel he’ll be better for them than Hillary Clinton, a woman who worked for years helping the poor.

Donald Trump has a record a mile long of abused creditors, small businesses and investors he has bankrupted, and lives he’s crushed.  He has re-branded himself as a blue-collar billionaire, pretending that the past, where he received millions in loans from his daddy and has never worked a day in his life, didn’t happen.  He pretends to care about people so they vote for him, and he will betray them as soon as it’s profitable. It’s literally his entire history as a failed businessman.

Oh, and he’s a racist.

He calls for blocking the border with Mexico and deporting 11 million people, instead of granting them amnesty and making them taxpayers.

He has called for a ban on allowing Muslims into the country.  And a religious test.  Seriously.  In the United States, in 2016.

This is a man who was sued successfully for housing discrimination, and who’s father was arrested at a Klan rally.

I could do this all day.  This is the screaming maw of the stupidest parts of America, brought forth by years of progress making people feel like they’re losing their power here.  The Democrats share some blame here as well.  We haven’t done enough to reach out to disenfranchised white voters and show them what Republican economic policies do.  That doesn’t excuse anyone in the Republican party for their shameful candidate or the utter ridiculousness of DONALD FUCKING J FUCKING TRUMP for president, but it matters going forward.  We need to show people how he and the rest of his party are making everyone’s lives worse, and hopefully the damage won’t be too bad in 4 years.

Trump went into the Rust Belt and told people what they wanted to hear, about bringing back jobs and opportunities.  He didn’t tell them that he’s part of the problem, buying cheap Chinese steel and making his products overseas.  But Hillary actively antagonized many of these people by campaigning on the truth, that many of the industries there were dying and unhealthy, and we’d need to re-educate people and find them new ways to make a living.  This was poorly conceived by the Democrats, and lost them states like Wisconsin and Michigan.  Trump told them soothing lies, Hillary told them hard truths, and that was it.

Hillary winning the total vote is a bitter consolation this morning, but it shows that a majority of people don’t think this way.

But emails, guys.
