Aaron Hernadez, who still elicits remarks like “sure he killed people, but at least he didn’t play like Ras-I Dowling,” committed suicide in his cell. He went out of this life the same way he came into the NFL, being effective despite being undersized and failing to set proper blocks.
I guess he couldn’t get a reservation.
I had to explain this to students who were asking about it this morning.
I told them that he did it because he won the case for the killings he didn’t do, had no problems with the killings he actually did, and figured he didn’t need to do “the man’s” time for something he thought was no big deal.
Willing to take advice on adding something to this explanation.
It wouldn’t be the first time someone wanted to off themselves after hearing Chris Carter speak.
Just tell them that thanks to the President, Hernandez recognized himself as a “bad hombre” and took appropriate action. Encourage your students to do the same if their heritage is questionable.
But honestly… maybe it’s a pride thing? If he dies before his final appeal is heard he can be said to have died an innocent man? Also, come on he was not really found innocent of murder it was more about reasonable doubt. The defense said it was his friend who was testifying against him who really shot the people. He was still in the car with a gun when the shooting took place.
Boy that guy liked killing people.
He was just hunting the most dangerous game
He could’ve at least waited until Brady’s next visit and made it a murder-suicide.
He’s the Krombopolus Michael of the NFL.
That last line. Jesus. Perfect.
I guess he won’t be hanging around anymore
No need to get all choked up about it.
I’m getting to the end of my rope with you guys.
