And because I knew this was coming, I’m not even pissed.
NCAA verdict in North Carolina academic case: No violations, penalties for UNC
The critical point, as far as the NCAA is concerned, is that the general student body at North Carolina was benefitting from courses in African and Afro-American Studies that required little attendance and almost no work. UNC student-athletes took those courses in droves over the years, but the NCAA ultimately stuck to its guidelines and viewed the system academic misconduct as a university issue. It ultimately decided it could not stick this case, from an NCAA standpoint, to North Carolina’s athletic department.
Disgusted, yes. But not pissed.
Wanna know the funniest part? SACS (the academic police for universities around here) had already concluded it was an athletics problem, so they got away with it on the academic side as well.

But way to go, NCAA. You’ve basically just given every school the greenlight to do this kinda stuff in the future.
Thank goodness their players didn’t sell the comp tix and sneakers tho. (no one but King Hippo will get that one, but it’s worth it to make him giggle).
