Well, hopefully no one famous died today. Yesterday was quite enough.
I spent most of the day doing the yardwork I’ve ignored since the breakdown in society. It certainly doesn’t help that lots of seniors live in my neighbourhood, and thus they are practiced at “nothing to do” gardening. However, with most of the tulips now done – query for [DFO] gardeners: should I pull the bulbs? – the irises have taken hold. So I planted some more lilies, because I apparently want the backyard to smell like an old folk’s home.
I always seem to pull some sort of muscle, usually due to bad posture when yanking weeds out of the garden. Not as bad as Brian May, though. He managed to tear a glute whilst weeding the flower box. I usually do that while out getting my evening exercise.
Tonight’s … entertainment?:
- Hockey:
- “The 1970 Boston Bruins: Big, Bad and Bobby” – 8:00PM ET | NHLN / Sportsnet
- Basketball:
- “The Last Dance” – Episodes 7 & 8 – 9:00PM | ESPN
- Wrasslin’:
- WWE Money In The Bank – 8:00PM | WWE Network.
- Wrestlers have to fight their way to the roof of WWE HQ (FKA, “Titan Towers”) & then attempt to grab the appropriate briefcase.
- WWE Money In The Bank – 8:00PM | WWE Network.
Jeff Hardy is involved tonight, so expect at least one stupid / death-defying stunt. Previous examples are:
- Bob’s Burgers – 9:00 PM | FOX / City
- While trying to show Tina what’s great about their town, Linda ends up on the trail of a legendary local singer. Meanwhile, Teddy turns to Bob for help in arguing with a sports radio host.
- A Saturday Night Live Mother’s Day – 9:00PM | NBC / Global
- Two hours of fan-favorite “SNL” sketches to celebrate moms and families.
It looks like not a lot, yet just enough. Good luck.

Why is it called ‘taking a shit’ when there is no taking involved? If anything, it’s giving a shit.

Damn! I squandered the depths of lockdown, I should have been using empty lots to teach myself stunt driving

Man, it got a little chilly in Los Angeles this evening. I know it snowed in Montreal earlier this week, but, yeah, that happens.
“Hey, how’d you do that?”
“Dentures! Lost my pearlies in the war!”
So, is there some weirdness involved in the fact that I love Frank Zappa, the Kinks, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Led Zep, Tom Petty, Oingo Boingo, and other musical entities that I am too drunk to recall right now? With these disparate tastes, I think I should be taken out behind the chemical sheds and shot in the back of the head.
It sounds like one of my playlists or like you’ve managed to find a karaoke speakeasy in Texas.
Eh, totally normal
It appears you have found the portal to 1981. Make sure to buy some Apple shares, and the Islanders win three more Cups before the Oilers take over.
Aw man, I really want to spontaneously sign up for tap dance lessons right now. Stupid coronavirus
Although I did just find the harmonica instruction book that I bought a year earlier than I bought a harmonica, rendering it useless
Finally getting around to the Benoit doc and it’s a hell of a thing watching people who have clearly spent the last 13 years walking through a black cloud trying to reconcile everything that happened, especially for his living son. Sans tragedy, either Benoit or Guerrero could have gone down as the best performer of all time. A better timeline would have had them and Malenko going in to the hall of fame together. Another thing he took away when he murdered his wife and child and then skirted all responsibility.
We are left to believe he lost his mind & killed them, or he killed them & then lost his mind.
Either way, a permanent piece of my wrestling fandom was lost via those killings. It joined the part that left with Owen Hart.
It’s interesting contrasting how they talk about him. Chavo and Jericho both talk about him with love while Malenko looked disgusted to have to speak his name. It’s not hard to believe that the combination of Severe steroid abuse, extreme cte, and the loss of his best friend that he no longer had the capacity to cope with could break him, but there’s a huge gap between understanding why someone would do something and forgiving it. Even if you can stomach watching any of his work now, it’s impossible to not see everything that happens In the ring in the context of how it helped lead to what he did.
Reggae Ray Davies is an odd thing, but still…

Martin Landau won an Oscar for “Ed Wood” in 1995:

He earned it. That was a damn fine film.
I was pleased to see his late-in-life resurgence, but he’ll always be Rollin Hand on Mission:Impossible to me. And that Space:1999 show. What’s with him and shows with colons in the titles:?
His wife was a hottie, too.
My solution to the “Patriots” who want their rights restored at the expense of people’s lives (just substitute “working Miss Burkle’s case” with “social distancing”)
My apologies for any Angel fans for opening some old scars revisiting this episode.

I occasionally enjoy some crap pizza, so I ordered Papa Johns yesterday. Turns out they have crap jalepeno bite things now too! Toss in a couple cold beers and it was a very satisfying lapse in nutritional value
Wow. That sounds like a rough night for your toilet.

In lieu of Money in the Bank, I’m instead going to watch the New Jack episode of Dark Side of the Ring, in which people do far more dangerous things such as making eye contact with him.

Sent me down the rabbit hole of Farley videos, and helped me remember that Farley once did a sketch on All That (which had 11 seasons what the fuck) with Kenan Thompson, who, as we all know, has been cursed to walk the earth as a sketch comedian (started doing All That at 14).

In fairness they brought back All That so I don’t know how those seasons are divvied up. I know this because sometimes late at night they have Hey Arnold! and Rocko’s Modern Life on.
