The cheating Russians also benefited from some extremely generous overscoring, so they’re currently holding the 1, 2, and 4 positions heading into the free skate (aka the “not-drug-free” skate for Russian cheaters I mean skaters). Cheating enthusiasts throughout the world are optimistic that Russia’s cheating program, long believed to be the world’s leader in the field of cheating science and related disciplines, will emerge from this Olympics fully vindicated as producing the most corrupt cheaters in the world. “This is the first time anybody thought to use the athletes’ minor status as a shield from both criticism and consequences,” pundits opined, “but I guess that’s why Russia cranks out the best cheaters year after year.”
I had the idea of creating a dirty version of Wordle but the domain “dirtywordle.com” has already been registered. I might code it up anyways, just for fun. Leave your suggestions in the…wait, no, don’t do that. We already have enough problems getting put on domain blacklists.
Another thing that happened is that I got a bunch of fence boards for free off Craigslist. I can’t say that this guarantees me a nomination for the Mike Brown Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Frugality, but I’m starting to feel optimistic that my efforts will receive formal recognition at some point.
We also started keeping a little journal of wines that we like. The first entry was Trefethan’s cabernet sauvignon.

UPDATE: Sometime during the night, sanity, order, and electricity were restored.
The jigsaw puzzle of Ancient Rome suffered some damage from clumsy feet but it seems the worst is past.
Provisions held up and I still have a half-full large Baja Blast Zero.

Making Anthony Bourdain’s recipe for mushroom soup he served at Les Halles. My in-laws brought us a 2 lb. bag of beautiful button mushrooms from Delaware, I had a really nice turkey stock in the freezer, and the recipe is really easy. They showed up last night just as I was figuring out how to open the Valentines present I got my wife, which was a Cameo from comedian/actor Andy Kindler. It was the best gift I’ve ever gotten someone. Screams of laughter from all. Just a standout comic’s comic being as sweet and funny to me and my family as a new grandfather would be when holding his grandchild in his arms for the first time. If you dont know of him, and have Apple Music, his standup albums are gold.
Oh, and the Beatles’ “Rooftop Concert” record is so good it makes you mad.
