Sexy Friday – NFL Kickoff Weekend 2022 + 1/2 assed Steelers Preview

Today is a special edition of Sexy Friday. If all goes well, Mr. Ayo will be taking over this space soon and y’all will have some AMAZING pictures to peruse on Friday evenings.

Tonight, we have hot AFLW action on tap as the AFL Semi Final game between Collingwood and Fremantle is starting at 2:25 AM Pacific and that’s more like Saturday morning.

I won’t spoil last night’s Semi Final between Brisbane and Melbourne for those of you that want to watch a replay. Let’s just say these Finals are shaping up as one of the all-time best set of Finals games in AFL history.

Tonight’s AFLW games are:

Adelaide Crows v North Melbourne Kangaroos at 7:40 Pacific.

Sydney Swans v GWS Giants at 9:40 Pacific.

Geelong Cats v Collingwood Magpies at 11:10 Pacific

Brisbane Lions v Gold Coast Suns at 11:40 Pacific

There is also HOT CFL action as the BC Lions are currently playing the Montréal Alouettes.

In Sexy Mexy Liga MX action, Juárez will take on Monterrey.

No videos today as I’ve not had time to prepare them. However, I did have some fun pics for ya that are related to my Half-Assed Steelers Preview!

This is the first year (FINALLY!) without Big Ben Roethlisberger at QB. The truth is he stayed too long and only Mike Tomlin’s brilliant coaching allowed the Steelers to post non-losing seasons the last two years.

The Steelers have only selected 3 QBs in the first round of the draft in their history: Terry Bradshaw (1st overall), Ben Roethlisberger (11th), and Kenny Shane Pickett (20th). None of them were named the starter at the beginning of their rookie year yet Bradshaw split time with the starter before becoming the full-time starter in Season 2 while Ben became the starter after Tommy Maddox got injured in Season One.

Which is to say that I expect Kenny Pickett to play this year and most likely take over the starter’s role next year at the latest. Kenny is surrounded by talent at the skill positions with Najee Harris being a stud at RB, multiple talented WR’s, and Freirmuth at TE.

The weak point is the turnstile-like offensive line which will give the QB approximately 3 seconds to get rid of the ball, if he’s lucky.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Steelers added Myles Jack, the former Jaguar and UCLA Bruin. Trust me when I tell you that Myles Jack is the best player UCLA has produced in the last two decades. When he was eligible for the draft, I was hoping he would be drafted by the Steelers because he seemed to fit their scheme. He’s finally a Steeler and will be a monster.

With Minkah Fitzpatrick at safety and Cameron Heyward at DT, the spine of the defense is solid. Cameron Heyward leads a defensive line that should be much improved over last year’s. I expect the defense to focus on creating turnovers as the offense could struggle with the new QBs.

Special teams have never been a Pittsburgh strong suit and I don’t expect them to be again this year. Overall, this team has a very high ceiling. It could win the division if things fall the right way. It could also finish third and out of the playoffs.

They won’t finish last because the Cleveland Browns still exist.

BOLD PREDICCIÓN NÚMERO UNO: The Steelers will exceed the Vegas Over/Under of 7.5 wins this year.

BOLD PREDICCIÓN NÚMERO DOS: Mitch Trubisky will get hurt at some point this year, Kenny will take over and play well, and there will be a QB controversy.

BOLD PREDICCIÓN NÚMERO TRES: The Steelers will have a winning record (call it 9-8 or 10-7) and flirt with the playoffs. I can’t say whether they will get in or not because that depends on how other teams do, but they will be in contention until the last week.

No matter what, this should be a fun interesting season to watch. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Incidentally, Terry Bradshaw was 6′ 3″ and Ben was 6′ 5″. Terry won 4 Super Bowls and Ben won 2.

Kenny Pickett is 6′ 3″.

I’ve really enjoyed doing this post after TWBS passed away, but I’ve realized that I’m not really doing it justice and there is someone younger than me that can do a much better job than I can. So, call it a succession plan, call it a retirement, call it what you want. I’m just really looking forward to the next phase of Sexy Friday in Mr. Ayo’s hands.

I’ll still be writing. As soon as I can get some time, I’ll work on a new series and there are World Cup previews to be written. You haven’t heard the last of me.

Type away and kiss some titties in honor of the Steelers!

Balls somehow lost his bio and didn't realize it. He's now scrambling to write something clever and failing. He likes butts, boobs, most things that start with the letter B, and writing in the Second Person. Geelong, Toluca, Barcelona, and Steelers, in that order.
