I can’t believe I’ve actually made it to 900! That’s something Houston cannot say.

I’ve thought long and hard about what to put into this post and I’ve decided I’ve got nothing. I thought about doing a post talking about the past and my favourite posts but I’m not really one to think too much about the past.

I prefer living in the present and planning for the future.

In that vein, I also like to make predictions, so let’s review how much of a Nostradamus I was this year:

Steelers Preview

This is what I wrote this year:

Overall, this team has a very high ceiling. It could win the division if things fall the right way. It could also finish third and out of the playoffs.

They won’t finish last because the Cleveland Browns still exist.

BOLD PREDICCIÓN NÚMERO UNO: The Steelers will exceed the Vegas Over/Under of 7.5 wins this year.

BOLD PREDICCIÓN NÚMERO DOS: Mitch Trubisky will get hurt at some point this year, Kenny will take over and play well, and there will be a QB controversy.

BOLD PREDICCIÓN NÚMERO TRES: The Steelers will have a winning record (call it 9-8 or 10-7) and flirt with the playoffs. I can’t say whether they will get in or not because that depends on how other teams do, but they will be in contention until the last week.

I have to say, that’s was pretty dead on, wasn’t it? Titty Kisser didn’t get hurt, but he did get replaced by Kenny Pickett. I got Predictions 1 and 3 exactly right.

I picked 7 winners this year, matching my 2019 performance. I have edited the original picks post to show who won. The winners are in Italics.

New Year Resolutions Post

I had 5 goals for 2022: Fitness, Reading, Writing, Leisure, and Giving Back. I achieved the first four out of the five and did quite a bit of giving back. I just couldn’t match the pace of one thing per month.

Overall, though, I think that’s pretty good. As you have read on my golf posts, my goals this year are golf-related. We’ll see how I do.

What’s next?

I don’t know. When I got to 800, I didn’t think I could write more and yet here we are. I thought I had run out of things to say and yet I’m still typing.

I am extremely happy and thankful that Mr. Ayo has taken over the Sexy Friday posts. He is doing a tremendous job with them and I hope he keeps them going for a long time to come.

I have 2 months until the AFL season starts again. Thank you very much to BFC for taking over some of those posts last year! He was my good luck charm as the Geelong Cats won the Premiership.

I’m hoping 2023 gives me more time to write. I really enjoy doing it. More than that, though, I’ve really enjoyed reading the posts many of you have written. There is so much talent in this little site and I’m very proud to be a part of it.

Thank you for reading my ramblings and my oversexed fiction. Thank you for your comments and criticism. I have found that the process of writing these 900 posts has made me a better writer and has helped me personally and professionally.

I encourage any of you readers, lurkers, and commentists to take the leap and start writing. I think you will find it very rewarding. It certainly has been that for me.
