Hey.
Welp. That’s it for Jaguras fitbawl this season.

Obligatory
Let’s see what I predicted their record would be:
2025 Pre-Season Prediction
8-9. Second in the AFC South. 2 chances to snag a Wildcard berth; Slim and None, and Slim just left town.
2025 Mid-Season Prediction
9-8. Still 2nd in the AFC South and no playoffs.
What Actually Happened
Jacksonville ended the season 13-4, AFC South Division winners and hosted the Buffalo Bills in a playoff game down in Duval. We’re still waiting on the recount before declaring a victor (that’s how it works in today’s ‘Merica, right?)

Facts and Opinions
Notable wins over The Chefs in Week 5 (31-28), Donks WOO! in Week 16 (34-20) and an eight game win streak were the high points.
Getting the doors blown off by RAMMIT in Week 7 (7-35) and losing the playoff matchup (24-27) were the low points.
A big difference this season was the Jaguars won more close games than they lost, a reversal from the 2024 campaign. Were some of those close games close because of lapses in the defensive secondary? Yes. But more often than not, Prison Girlfriend put together late drives that ended in victory and not an all-too-familiar pickerception or turnover on downs.
Having Cam Little’s atomic leg didn’t hurt either, as he made NFL record setting field goals of 67 and 68 yards while going 30/34 for the season.
2023 6th rounder Parker Washington was the leading receiver with 5 TDs and 847 yards.
Travis Etienne led RBs with 7 TDs and 1107 yards.
Trevor Lawrence had a 29/12 TD/INT ratio, ran for another 9 TDs and racked up 4007 passing yards plus 359 rushing yards.
2025 First round (#2 overall) pick Travis Hunter was lost to IR with a knee injury in practice prior to the Week 9 game against Las Vegas.
The WR room is solid with Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr, and the aforementioned Parker Washington. Throw in TE Brenton Strange and Lawrence has an array of targets in the passing game.
Etienne and Bayshul Tuten make for a solid RB duo.
The O-line had moments. Both good and bad. I see this as a potential draft target to protect the investment that is the starting QB.
The defense still needs some work. While they were stout on run defense, the secondary had a frustrating tendency to give up big plays far too frequently that either kept drives alive or were scoring plays. Safety and Corner help should be the priority in the upcoming draft.
If this is the improvement in Year 1 of the Liam Coen era, I am interested in seeing if this carries over into Year 2. Jacksonville has a pattern of regression after an unexpectedly good season. Win the division two years in a row and I’ll be impressed. Make the playoffs and win one (or more!) games and I’ll be in need of a new bandana for my Clubhouse sprints.

In conclusion,

Until Next Time! Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.

i was bummed they didn’t beat mr. fuckhead and the bills. there’s always next year. as for the ravens, 2026 is gonna be like a train loaded with ammunition ramming into a nuclear reactor. can’t wait.

Hey, if you lived in a town with bridges collapsing & ships blowing up on the reg…
Now that he’s long gone from Bawlmer and the AFC North, I can say I always liked Harbs A. He seems like the type who gets everything out of his team, without being completely batshit nuts like his brother and dad.
Harbs A seems eminently more likeable than dried piss stain on the toilet seat Brian fucking Billick. He was such a tool. There’s obviously more than most know of him since he was never sought after after the Ratbirds canned him. Billick was an alleged “offensive miracle worker,” who lucked into possibly the greatest single-season defense in League history. He’s the same guy who thought Kyle Boller was the next Drew Brees. He always seemed he truly believed he wasn’t just the SMRTST not just in the building, but on the Eastern Seaboard. Swarmy, condescending, and arrogant, he acts as if that 2000 Ravens’ team was entirely due to his “genius.” A lot of my personal hatred for Bawlmer comes from him and Stabby.
Yup. I always liked how he and Tomlin built the rivalry on respect for the opponent.
This is truly the end of an era. The rivalry just won’t be the same going forward.
Yeah, I imagine Redshirt is going to OD on shadenfreude watching both the Ravens & Stillers implode next year.
/flash forward to 1/15/27
// Stillers win AFC North, with 11-6
/// Ratbirds finish second at 10-7, get Wild Card
/// Bungles finish 6-11, Burrow pulls Andrew Luck
//// Pauls finish 2-15, doesn’t matter because it’s The Pauls (yet somehow, beat Stillers in Cleveland)
Great season for Jax. Hope next year improves on it, they look like a team having some fun.
The last NFL bet I had going was JAX being eliminated in the Divisional Round. With the loss to the Bills, I went 0-7 in all my pre-season wagers. Life sure was sweeter with blind luck around.
Still, the Jags were a great watch. Coen must get some Coach of the Year love, if not win it outright.
Yeah, he did a great job, but my money is on da Bears coach, whose name escapes me at the moment.
Ben Johnson. Duh! My son’s name was Ben.
Add Vrabel in there and we have the three finalists.
I think you’re right about this Jaguars season – it reminds me a lot of the Raiders’ 12-4 season in 2016, which was followed by a regression to 6-10. The Jaguars will probably do better than that (especially with the Colts and Titans to kick around) but I won’t be shocked if they finish at 9-8 or thereabouts.
