Today, I review a local Colorado favorite, Dale’s Pale Ale. Away we go to the land of STRONG BEER TAEKS.

NAME: Dale’s Pale Ale
SOURCE: Oskar Blues Brewery, Lyons, Colorado; Lyons is a small town twenty minutes north of Boulder where a lot of hippies and yuppies live that can’t afford a place in Boulder. Also, a lot of bikers (motor and pedal) stop there on the way to Rocky Mountain National Park. Congratulations, you learned something about a town to which you will never go!
TYPE: American India Pale Ale
REVIEW: Dale’s Pale Ale is probably the second Colorado beer that everyone tries after Fat Tire. It is basically a hoppy version of an American Pale Ale with all the piney and citrusy notes of an IPA. It is a good go-to choice when you can’t decide what to get. This is what I choose to drink last weekend at the “Fare Thee Well” Dead shows in Chicago once we got inside the venue. By the luck of the draw, the seats we got were in the club level at Soldier Field. I had never been up there before because I have no corporate friends in Chicago. It was really nice. We were on the east side, so we had a great view of the lake and downtown, and were able to walk between the columns and the spaceship parts of the stadium, as pictured.
Also, there were leather recliners everywhere, and the bathroom lines were non-existent, which was nice! But the beers were TEN FUCKING DOLLARS AND FIFTY FUCKING CENTS. For any kind. Including Miller Lite. $10.50! For one! Anyway, the club level is about 18 stories tall on the east side of the stadium and one of the floors has really weird caricatures of famous Bears players, past and present.
I like how George McAfee looks pissed he has to stand next to Urlacher’s stupid tattoo, and how Gayle Sayers is trying to comfort him.
