Here’s a little something for the early risers and for those that would like to take in Wolverhampton/Newcastle and later, Aston Villa/Everton. There’s college basketball further on and some pickeball for the self-hating types.

Down the road we’ll get to the games.

Notes:

-Bo Nix is gone so Drew Lock gets the ball next week.

-The Falcons hired Kevin Stefanski to unlock the potential of a fairly talented squad. Look for Atlanta to be much more competitive next season.

-LaFleur got himself a brand new deal. I’ve not found any details (did I look hard? No) but I’m betting that he more than doubled his 5 mil salary.

-The Steelers are open to a Rodgers return because they’re suckers I guess. [shrugs]

I broke my ankle 30 years ago and all I remember was trying not to puke and sweating profusely.

It did indeed hurt like hell. Got a cast on it about 3 hours later and was on crutches for 5 weeks.

Depends how you break it, friend of mine broke her ankle, thought it was a sprain, and was limping on it for a week before getting x-rays because it wasn’t getting better.

0% fat Greek yogurt with fresh blueberries and raspberries, with diced walnuts on top.

I follow that with a big bowl of Cap’n Crunch mixed with Trix, Super Sugar Crisp, and Lucky Charms, sprinkled with sugar and drowned in dairy fresh whipping cream. Along with this I have 4 to 6 slices of white toast with thick butter and cinnamon sugar, 2 to 4 Frosted Cherry PopTarts, and a Diet Coke.

I do have some heated gloves and socks but not gonna try and get them through the metal detectors. Plus I’ve had them for like 10 years and haven’t tried them out yet

Yeah, I’ve been to the Emirates in a Makita heated vest and so long as you announce it, you’re good. Hell, the bigger hurdle is the staff asking you whether “it’s worth” the price tag (in shit weather it most certainly is)

The bigger hurdle is probably the second part, not having used them before. I know my glove liners and giant mittens won’t crap out on me.
And it’s not going to be all that cold on the 100 level, out of the wind and surrounded by other people. The real issue is that enthusiastic cheering doesn’t really warm you up as much as actual physical activity. I once waited for a bus for 30 minutes in -10F and that was truly awful, this won’t be that bad at all.

Also, I head to Vegas tomorrow for my bid trade convention. Decided I am just looking for ‘partners’ to bring my technology to the coast. I’m too small to come from inland and go fight in their regional markets (efficiently) nor do I care to build out multi-state infrastructure. I’ve got the best tech, the best system, and, as I see it, I’m D-Day. These coastal goofs have been warring for years and are at a stalemate. Now I’ve got fresh/better weapons and allies coming over on carriers. The only questions is, like all US arms producers, Whose Side Am I On?

My competitor in town — the Walmart of our industry — finally got wind of my technological/system advances. Their manager called mine (they talk, of course) and just brushed it off with a dismissive, “Yeah we tried that.” Which is the same as “We had that idea and couldn’t bring it to fruition.” He meant it as a slight at me for being slow-to-recognize; I see it as a sign I am on the right track — and ahead of them on it.

And now I am going to kill myself because my little flier in Powerpoint isn’t sized right and there’s no way I am redoing all this work for a stupid formatting thing stupid public school didn’t teach me 30 years ago.
