Seemingly, AI can do everything better than us: book airplane tickets, write a memorable email to a new business contact, conjure credible iguana alibis… I know, I know. Since this January, I’ve taken several AI seminars and tried out various programs. I can tell you, with confidence, that right now artificial intelligence can produce the vast majority of possible scenarios regarding any bidness or social situation you input, alongside outputs only humanly conceivable after ingesting 3.7 mg of 2047-grade mescaline.

But is AI useful? Tch; as everything exasperatingly human, it depends. The best evaluation has two parts: (i) did you use AI and handed its output, AND (ii) nobody took issue with it? If both,

FINALLY,

My biggest PRESENT fear with artificial intelligence is: is AI making a fool out of all of us? The easiest way that happens is by denouncing artificial intelligence after having been captivated, unaware, by posts or images or videos made by AI–even when it was obvious deepfake, plagiarized slop. I can provide a heads up about that. When looking at old NFL stuff, verify player data with reputable sources. I recommend pro football reference, which last week confirmed for me that 90s QB Jeff Hostetler did not have gills.

And, for my readings / lookings, AI does not give a particular, individual taek about anything. It gathers and summarizes, which is fine. But we folks like taeks, opinions, reactions–and then rub those taeks against the values of our community and our secret fetishes convictions.

The AI summary from millions of Internet entrepreneurs + nutjobs across Instagram + porn site comments + F*c*b**k 🙄s can be informative as to the general Web population. And therefore, maybe humanity. But an individual with a particular outlook or sensibility, borne out of experience, is worth Web immortality. I mean, pft. The web is full of shit, but unique stuff is Platinum Humanity.
