Request Line: Can We Talk About It?

Still me, tWBS  this week.

OK, settle down everyone.

Rikki-Tikki-Deadly  will allegedly be back next week.  Allegedly.

Hopefully, he’ll have a more uplifting theme for you.  But I’m in a bad mood and music is the only thing soothing my weary soul.

I’ve had a bad coupla weeks.  Bad coupla months, actually.

But it hit the ledge earlier this week.

Have you ever been in a relationship which you dearly wanted to work, but you came to the conclusion, reluctantly but by necessity, that it just wasn’t going to happen?  No matter how much you love this person nor how hard you’ve tried to talk things out and fix things?

tWBS:  Wow, 3000.  I had no idea.

DJ3000:  I don’t want to talk about it.

tWBS:  I feel ya.  Let’s just play some songs?

DJ3000:  Yes, please.

tWBS:  You got it, Brother.

OK, 3000 doesn’t want to talk about it.  And I can’t say I blame him.  But that’s exactly our theme this week.

My most recent relationship crashed and burned because she told me she didn’t want to talk about it.  She actually refused to talk, multiple times.

And then told me I was trying too hard.

We could have fixed our problems.  Fairly easily, I think.  And I begged her over and over to please just talk to me and let’s at least try.  But the more I tried the worse it became.  So I had to come to the realization that it was best to just stop trying.  That was a very difficult choice to make, but I had to do it.

But seriously….

TRYING TOO HARD?????  How is that even a thing?????

You have to be willing to communicate when you’re in a relationship.  Otherwise it will disintegrate eventually anyway.  No matter what.

NO. MATTER. WHAT.

And sadly, it did.

But that’s what it is this week…songs about Communication.

It can be about talking, not talking, avoiding talking, talking too much, or anything else involving communications.

Or lack thereof.
