• It’s looking worse for Leonard Fournette today.
  • Not Earl Thomas worse, but pretty bad:
    • He cleared waivers unclaimed & is now a true free agent.
    • He promptly filed a grievance for the $4.167 million in base salary he believes he’s owed for 2020.
  • I half-expect the Patriots to pick him up & turn him into the next 2,000 yard rusher.

• Among the people who did get paid today:
  • Bengals RB Joe Mixon – a 4-year extension worth $48 million.
  • Lions OL Taylor Decker – a six-year extension worth $85 million.

• The league is looking to set a standard for decibel levels in empty stadiums during games.
  • According to ESPN, the league has curated an audio track that would be played at every game without fans.
    • The league’s competition committee will meet this week to finalize plans, including the maximum decibel level allowed.
      • PFT reported last week that the fake crowd noise is expected to be in the range of 70 to 85 decibels.
    • Stadiums with fans will have the option to use the track as well.

• Get ready for your MAGA relatives to start pounding out Facebook responses: Roger Goodell confirmed the phrases “It Takes All of Us” and “End Racism” would appear in NFL end zones this season.
  • As well, the NFL will be joining with social justice groups to promote voter registration.
  • It’s all part of the league’s “Inspire Change” program.
