Us: “WE WANT MORE FOOTBALL!”

Media: “More football means a lot more injuries to the players. Is that what you want?”

Us: [huddles together, whispers among ourselves, breaks out of huddle] “WE WANT LESS FOOTBALL! YEAH, THAT’S WHAT WE MEANT!”

Media: “So you want less games to watch?”

Us: “YES!, UH, GOD NO! [huddles together again, breaks out of huddle] WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE REALLY WANT. CAN WE GET SOME SORT OF RESET OVER HERE?”

Media: “Too Late!” [scribbles furiously about the NFL doing the best it can despite its fan-base being a bunch of goobers that don’t know what the hell they want, when in fact many are torn with respect to the game they love]
