Thanks to Chelski rallying from a 2-nil halftime deficit to draw Spurs, the title race is over. So…now what?

FUCKALL. That’s what.

There’s the race to the bottom, but annoyingly enough, the Barcodes have by far the easiest schedule and thusly path to safety. So it looks like Sunderland and Norwich will join Villa on the journey down.

And I suppose there is just a tiny bit of suspense in who finishes 3rd (last CL slot without playing in the qualifying rounds) and 4th (last CL slot period), but…meh.

On teevee Saturday, Norwich play United first (7:45, NBCSN), needing 3 to keep hope alive. United is the side chasing 4th. Villa/Newcastle (10:00, NBCSN) and Sunderland/Chelski (10:00, USA) are next. See what I mean by schedule?

Lastly, tune into USA for the spotlight dance at 12:30, to see Leicester’s home finale. Will they be too hungover to throttle Everton and “dead man walking” manager Roberto Martinez? I am betting not, but maybe it will only be 2-nil instead of 4 or 5.

Sunday starts with Spurs and Soton (8:30, NBCSN), and one has to wonder what the atmosphere at White Hart Lane (and the spirit in the home side) will be like. 3rd place Arsenal and 4th place City go at it to close the weekend (11:00, NBCSN), and they will swap positions (on goal differential) if City get all 3 points.

Season ends next Sunday, yo.

Evening all, hate to lead off with something serious, but perhaps you kind folks can give me some outside perspective:

I was informed today, by a pittsburgh fan naturally, that I was wrong to root for the caps tonight simply due to my dislike for a handful of penguin fans i know who inexplicably live in the greater chicago area, and that his criticism of the blackhawks and their fans is “totally different”, and that “i’m just a sore loser”

I responded with what I felt was a more than adequate dressing down of the penguins, and how utterly dislike able sidney crosby is, the response was the expected paper-thin rape accusation against patrick kane, which of course naturally brought up ben roethlisberger’s multiple accusations, which of course led to an ad hominem attack and I think you can fill in the rest. Obviously, the colloquial term for this fine fellow is “shithead” and shouldn’t be given significant thought, but that’s not my question.

As a human being I know full well the teams, players, and fellow fans I support are going to be far from perfect. its the human condition.

My question is, how do I take criticism of my team seriously, know there are a lot of shitheads out there, (not necessarily calling anyone on this site mind you), and the arguments they use are similarly flimsy?

Yes I know I should have attended my first blackhawks game before 2011. I know my mother should not being posting statuses about the blackhawks in what is a blatant attempt to connect to her sons. I know I should have payed more attention to the 91 stanley cup series (aforementioned shithead seems oblivious to the fact they happened). This doesn’t justify the constant negativity I’m seeing.

I’m clearly missing something here. I know its not “they hate us cuz they ain’t us” but man what has crawled up people’s collective ass over the blackhawks?

if i’m faulty in my arguments, please tell me why, I’m open to any thoughts.

And the best choice is to ignore other fans who taunt you and avoid taunting them back. Especially in person when they might be carrying concealed weapons. Unless they really get in your face, the go for the eyes and the trachea first.

Really, though, to your point, I’ve never let criticism bother me. People get on the Hawks because they’re the current dominant team, same as the FACKIN’ GREATRIOTS. Take in stride, and you can always just drop the “three Cups in six years” line. I would.

to me at least, the criticism of pats fans seem to be their self proclaimed importance. same reason I dislike green bay and INdianapolis, the fans think their teams are special.

I don’t get that vibe with chicago, so i guess it just feels different.

As far as the Hawks, as a Kings fan, I only have respect for what they have accomplished in the last few years. That run of success is rare and should be admired. Sure, people can go after Kane and shithead fans, but every team these days has an asshole and shithead fans. I say forget about the shitheads and don’t even think about it.

You didn’t miss much not watching games live in the past. Chicago stadium is remembered as great but it was cold and while they kept the organ at the new place the acoustics sucked at the old place.

As for why we are hated, you hit on some major points, we won recently, we do have a lot of fans that weren’t around the whole time and people like your mom are easy targets to say they aren’t really fans.

And that redhead theme was just me again.
