As some of you might have seen in yesterday’s open thread, the illustrious Mrs. Deadly is gone for the week, so I’ll be trying to make the most of my temporary bachelorhood this week. That most likely entails rekindling my relationship with our neglected* Playstation and thinning out the herd in our liquor cabinet, while expanding my dog’s dishwashing responsibilities to “full time”. Yesterday’s roundball game was a vast disappointment in terms of entertainment value; fortunately the afternoon was saved by the hilarious brawl between the Rangers and Blue Jays, punctuated by Roughned Odor delivering one of the best punches in baseball history.
I don’t care about either team, but I do think it’s very amusing that a player such as Jose Bautista, who speaks unabashedly about the “unwritten rules” of baseball, performs one of the most memorable bat flips in history, slides obviously (and illegally) at the shortstop’s legs, returns from being pushed hard in the sternum with his head and fists up, then has the audacity to say he “was surprised” that he got punched in the jaw. In the current political climate, a man so purposefully obtuse could go a long way, hell, he’d probably make a great vice-presidential candidate for…[touches earpiece]…no, I didn’t know he’s not a U.S. citizen…[pauses again to listen]…no, I wasn’t going assume just because he has a Hispanic-sounding last name that…[pause]…yes, you’re right, it IS what Trump would have done.
This week’s Request Line was hosted by party boy extraordinaire Rob Gronkowski and the theme was “video games”. I’ve trimmed a few things to make the playlist flow a bit better (nobody needs to hear ten straight hours of Tetris music) but I had a lot of fun with the theme and I hope you did as well. Stick around (or fast forward your way through) for the closing track – an a cappella version of “God Only Knows” from Bioshock Infinite that randomly (and fittingly) ended up landing at the very end.

*It’s not really “neglected”, we’re using it as a hub for all our other entertainment options (Hulu, Spotify, etc.) – I’m really impressed with how versatile it is.

Attention Bills Fans: I just threw some actual news on the scrolling thingy: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/15564183/buffalo-bills-de-shaq-lawson-shoulder-surgery
Lawson had insisted after the draft that he wouldn’t need surgery, but the Bills on Monday said they would go ahead with the procedure on Tuesday…
Welcome to Buffalo, where nothing can possib-lie go wrong!

Also this:
He’s only out for OTAs. Please Jeebus let that actually hold.
I don’t understand why tweets use #bills instead of @bills. Like, if I’m talking about what a piece of garbage John McCain is, I use his @ account, not just a hashtag like if I was demanding action from #Congress.
But maybe I’m just old?
Well apparently you’re less old than me, because I didn’t understand a single thing you just wrote. As far as I can understand, you just jotted down the lyrics to a Kenya West song and posted them.
Yeah. It’s in tomorrow’s CrimeBeat. Cuz god hates us
TO WHOM WILL CARDALE THROW THE BALL NOW?!

God’s plan: Lawson was making a swim move on a tackling dummy in a non-contact drill when he aggravated his shoulder injury…..
What a jokester!
Nice punch:

I used to watch this AP video set to the same song, you know, before the whole child abuse thing. http://youtu.be/1PNdBiWJWNw
Video games? Fucking nerds.
I can understand why you think like that. After all, there’s no need to play Grand Theft Auto when you live in Baltimore.
In the Baltimore version, there’s a hidden mini game where you drive an illegal dirtbike through the city, evading police and running over innocent civilians.
Grand Five O’clock Glock News.
I just spent a few minutes looking for an image of a e-sports (I hate that term about as much as “mechanical doping”) champion surrounded by women (think Tour de France) and this was the best I could do. So…touché.

I don’t know how old a lot of women are and I’m not about to learn by making an inappropriate comment about the gal in this picture.
From my experience I could narrow it down to between 14 and 49. Either extreme or anywhere in between; BE CAREFUL.
They are already off my lawn because they are in the basement bitching about the internet speeds.
