Boris’ Week 4 DFS Writeup

Holy Shit, that certainly was a second half to the week.

Welcome to the Week Four DFS Writeup. Things have been a little stressful down here in Southwest Florida. We finally got power and internet back on Saturday morning. Luckily, I already had some of this written, but this is going to be a more truncated version of the article because time is currently my enemy.

For anyone who lives in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, I hope you are okay. With the return of power, I am just now seeing some of the horrific damage out there. Please stay safe and tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.

If you could please, open this link to my article on GridIronHeroics, my wallet sure would appreciate it.

Chalk Stack

Bills @ Ravens

My one concern with this matchup is whether or not Lamar Jackson and company can find offensive success against the Bills defense. The total for the game is 51.5. Many DFS players are going to stack this game, which makes stacking it a possible fade for me. That being said, I probably want some of it.

This should be fairly obvious, but Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Dawson Knox, and maybe even Ian McKenzie who might need some redemption for his blunder last week (go to the 10:45 mark) can be stacked with Josh Allen.

With Lamar, it’s Marc Andrews and Rashod Bateman, maybe some Devin Duvernay.

Other Stacks

Jaguars @ Eagles

Jalen Hurts is on another level this year, but so are the Jaguars. The team looks much better now that they have a real coach. Philly’s defense looks legitimate, but should the Jags find some success then we could see the fantasy points rack up. Stack Hurts with one to two of AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert.

On the Jacksonville side, Christian Kirk, Zay Jones (if he plays, Marvin Jones if he doesn’t), Evan Engram and even some James Robinson could be in play.

Seahawks @ Lions

It’s both of these running games that interest me this week. Rashaad Penny ran all over these Lions in Week 17 last year. With no Travis Homer, Penny should see more snaps. Jamaal Williams will be operating as RB1 with D’Andre Swift out. If something were to happen to Williams, Craig Reynolds would step in and might be this week’s Khalil Herbert. Reynolds will probably get some work in this game regardless.

One-Offs

Austin Ekeler. Last December when Ekeler was out, Justin Jackson ran all over the Texans. Houston’s issues stopping the run are still evident as Khalil Herbert showed us last week.

Michael Pittman gets the Titans secondary which isn’t good to start but is also pretty banged up. No team has allowed more fantasy points to outside WRs than Tennessee.

Cedee Lamb has a 34% target share which is an average of about 11 targets a game. Cooper Rush is being quite efficient at managing these games for the Boys. The Commanders are allowing the 3rd most fantasy points per game to WRs and Lamb’s matchup with CB Benjamin St-Juste is juicy.

Courtland Sutton has a 28% target share. The Raiders secondary is bottom 10 due in part to injuries.

Khalil Herbert gets another nice matchup against the Gmen with David Montgomery out.

Romeo Doubs has been projected by many to become WR1 in Green Bay for some time now. Since Allen Lazard has not stepped up to the plate, Doubs might be Rodgers’ new favorite target.

Dameon Pierce is now the primary RB in Houston and is still priced too low on DK. Sir Rexington Burkhead put up 150 yards in this matchup last year.

Game Time Decision

Glad you’re safe

You know what? I think after 45 years, I’m going to walk away from the NFL. The Tua thing is proving to be a bridge too far. This is nothing more than a criminal organization. I don’t buy merch, tickets, or even RedZone anymore. But after what happened to that young man Sunday and Thursday, this league is no longer welcome even on television screens in my home. I’d still like to hang around here if I can, but I’ll be driving Uber on Sundays now, and ignoring this national embarrassment for the remaining years of my life.

Doktor Zymm

I really wish that some of the organizations that have the power to act as a check on the NFL would step up, because the league has pretty clearly demonstrated that they’re firmly committed to getting away with as much evil shit as they can. Put Robot Jimmy Hoffa in charge of the NFLPA, have the AMA seriously review the medical certifications of all the team staff and revoke licenses if (when) they’re found to be working against player health, and there must be some OSHA regulations being violated here so some hefty, billionaire level fines against the teams and league would seem to be in order.

Fronkenshteen

I love you Dok. And you are so clearly more wise and intelligent than me that I automatically defer to you on issues of any importance. But that kid was clearly in distress after the hit vs Buffalo. They bullshitted the league and the nation by declaring it a back spasm. I told my wife Thursday before I went out driving, “Watch, Cincy is going to go after this kid’s head”, and holy shit, did they ever. And I get it. That’s the game. But at some point you have to ask yourself, what am I watching here? And after Tua fenced out, I had no good answer. You, I fucking love. You are my Carmen Sandiego, and I’ll never tire of your travails. Hell, maybe someday I’ll meet you at some low rent east coast DFO meetup. But I’ll be the scumbag serving the drinks. Until Fozz punches me in the fucking face🤓

King Hippo

Maybe I should quit, but it’s still my very favourite thing. I just want it better held accountable. There’s no reason for it to be like it is.

Fronkenshteen

That kid was clearly hurt. Nothing of substance was done for him. And four days later they turned him him into Austin Collie, Al Michael’s dulcet tones notwithstanding. Unforgivable.

Doktor Zymm

Yeah, no member of that medical staff upheld the Hippocratic Oath. Clearing Tua to play was doing harm. And the same can be said about plenty of other decisions medical staff around the league have taken. It bothers me even more than the coaches and the owners as it has the extra element of hypocrisy.

Still regretting that I missed the Baltimore meetup!

King Hippo

Be well, muthafucka. I somehow had forgeotten you was a Florida Man.

SonOfSpam

That’s a pretty major (and well-deserved) compliment

B. Cairo Santos is out tomorrow. Good thing the Bears don’t have a problematic history with placekickers.
