Welcome, welcome. Here begins the final week of yet another season. There were highs and there were lows and also some wonderful in-betweens. Let’s go over all of them-kidding!
To The Game!
Chiefs/Raiders:
-Kelce needs but one TD to become the first tight end to reach 10,000 yards and 70 scores within his first ten years in the league.
-A High-Scoring Affair?: Both teams are tied for 30th with respect to the opposing team’s QBR stat. (55.0) As well, both are in the bottom ten in the category of the other team’s completion percentage and TD/INT ratio,
-The Raiders are close to sewing up the 7th overall pick in this year’s draft. After compensatory picks are handed out it is estimated they will have a bushel of them (10-12) which would come in handy if they decided to move up to get one of those studly qb’s on offer.
-With a win the Chiefs will get the beloved #1 seed.
-They lead the league in points scored and have only been held below 20 once. It was against the mighty Indy Colts. Speaking of, the offense has bogged down recently and Townsend the punter has been put to work 15 times in the last three games. He punted 15 times total in the six games preceding the last three.
-More Firepower?: Mecole Hardman returns to the lineup after being on Injured Reserve. Prior to ending up there he had four TD’s in just two games. He will likely be eased into the lineup today though.
-In games where Vegas has a halftime lead they were outscored 113-32. They are the first team to blow five double digit leads in a single season. It would seem that a certain head coach is shy about making adjustments or maybe the adjustments he’s making are dead wrong.
Enjoy the tilt.
I was waiting for my stupid medical appointment this morning and the room I was in was tuned to TSN. There was a long form vid essay on Trevor Lawrence and I thought to myself, “I have no one IRL to share his ‘Prison Girlfriend’ joke nickname with and I was a bit sad.
“That’s why I created the Metaverse!” – Mark Zuckerberg
Meanwhile, at HQ:
I am stealth teaching people I talk to about football irl elements of Hippoese
why was he on TSN though, did he go to a hockey game or something?
Almost an hour till next game, time for a Letterkenny
On to Wichita for the Chiefs
Bus ride?
No real surprises today – hopefully Davante didn’t get a head ouchie. Stidham seemed perfectly capable moving the ball, but made enough mistakes that hopefully he won’t be too expensive to keep around.
I’ve fallen off a horse and had that whiplash action. I didn’t get a concussion but I did get whiplash
Was Snidely a generous lover? He doesn’t really come across as one. Were the in-laws at least tolerable?
I got a concussion from hitting my head at the resto a month ago. Foggy for a few days and Deci called me a unicorn…
So, instead of this neutral whateve they’ve come up with, why not move all the games up a week and get rid of the week off for the pro bowl?
You had me at get rid of the Pro Bowl.
That was what I had expected them to do.
I think probably the deciding factor was the NFL didn’t want the spectacle of having a weekend with only the Bills-Bengals game on the calendar, which might not even have anything at stake depending on what shakes out this weekend, and which would then make the entire football world’s focus on what had happened.
Just saw the Andy Reid caroUsel play. I love it, and that beautiful rib eatin walrus.
Why is Mahomes still in there?
edit: just as I type he gets sacked
Everything is fine.
At least the score is symmetrical now I guess
That was a fantastic throw by Stidham.
The one to Waller wasn’t terrible either. The Raiders have moved the ball reasonably well today. Maybe without that RTP on My Friend Maxx and this is a different ballgame.
Too bad Reid had trained the defense to go in a frenzy around any type of ham
After this Raiders loss Mark Davis’ tonight girlfriend is going to experience his full range of emotions, from “I think I’m hungry” all the way to “This pillow is too soft”.
If someone was going to get busted at a handjob house, you’d have thought it would be Mark right?
It would be nice if there were two teams playing in this game
cant believe we re reduced to hoping on DUVAAAAALLL for the game of the day and its not thursday
That actually should be a good game, although it would help if either team was even slightly consistent
Kind of generous to say the Chiefs are “peaking” after they almost lost to the Texans and had a tough time with the Broncos.

Hi there! I see my KC ATS bet is going well. How is everyone this fine Saturday?
Beautiful day if a little chilly. Did serious prep work for tomorrow’s meal and got a good 4 mile walk in. Not too shabby.
Sillycuse getting their balls stomped on by Virginny, which everyone should have seen coming from a mile away. I mean, they lost to Bryant and eked out a one point W over an atrocious Louisville squad for christsakes.
Toney gets robbed of the score. Sweet.
/yes, I do have some lingering resentment
//Aw Crap!
Looks like we’re all tied up for uncalled inteference penalties. BEERGH SLEEPS!
Apparently he’s awake.
Did Vegas have a Running of the Bulls mid-week, or why is that turf so fucked up?
They have a semi-regular “Running of the Bandannas,” but that only fucks up the people watching.
Arm punts aren’t really a thing when you’re inside your own 20, Jarrett.
I really wanted HI I’M MARK DAVIS to give him an extension after last weekend
There’s zero doubt they’ll want to keep him; the question is how much it’ll cost them.
My word! How could the National Footballing powers that be make a scheduling decision that favoured the uncivilized native tribes of Kansas! I must inform Captain James Cook that he needs to demand satisfaction!
Yeah, I’m mad about it too. Yet another example of KC’s obscene good luck during the regular season.
Sir it seems some of our people from the homeland are impersonating the “Indians” from the New World. Something may be afoot.
“Not pass interference.”
I mean come on. Even in Raider-o-vision that was absolutely interference.
The pre-Vegas gutting of the team so they would be successful after the move didn’t quite work out as well as they wanted
Chicago is a far superior sports-watching place for me than CA. AV setup is almost equivalent, as is internal alcohol stock, but better seating setup due to larger room and slightly better picture due to having a screen mounted. Plus better delivery options, better bars nearby if I want to go out, and I’ll probably get laid later.
You livin’ right, Dok!
I’ve gotten laid in the past, you should do it, it’s fun!
Made 1 baby, once. Can concur.
Ooh, shovely pass!
Damn, I wish I could not admire Mahomes. That was cold-blooded.
Yeah, how do you even stop that? Stay with your guy and he runs it in.
waited a looooong time to commit, defense played it as well as humanly possible
I am impressed they could custom print “Love For Damar” shirts big enough for Reid and Bienemy that goddamned fast.
Omar was working overtime.
Modified ponchos
we would also have accepted “circus tents”
Trying to remind myself that it was only a year ago that the Raiders won their way into the playoffs by beating the Chargers. Pretty sure I won’t be experiencing that level of elation this year.
But teh wing-wang wants what teh wing-wang wants.
Old-Ass Dad Achievement – UNLOCKED!
I sucessfully assembled and hooked up the 50″ teevee box the kids got me for Shitsmas. I had to swap the location of the “long” and “high” dressers so it would fit. My lower back isn’t too awful happy with me, but (i) I have pills for that; and (ii) I didn’t have to ask anyone FOAR help!
Next year I will give your kids my speech about the superiority of projectors
Man, that’s a hard sell for a mammal who still uses a physical GPS unit in his car.
Technically, projectors are older than teevees
So what you’re saying is you’re never ever getting out of bed again. I get it!
