AFL Beat 2024 – Round 8

We no longer have any unbeaten teams! That’s a bummer, for me. Let’s see what else happened.

Notes and Comments

Hippo’s Blues lost again, this time to the Collingwood Magpies. It’s hard to figure out what their deal is. They’re all the way down to eight on the ladder.

We have a new leader at the top of the table! Sydney beat the Giants and are ahead of Geelong on percentage. That Sydney Derby was quite good although it was a little marred by the driving rain which made it really difficult to get a good flow to the game.

The other Derby this week was The Showdown between Adelaide and Port Adelaide and maybe the Crows are good now? They certainly looked good in beating their home rivals.

Don’t look now, but West Coast is quietly improving. They barely lost to Essendon and have looked much better and more cohesive. They won’t accomplish much of anything this year, but it’s a giant leap forward from where they’ve been.

Great job to Litre for getting the most correct picks this week! He’s got on Spammy’s heels with BC Dick right behind him. Phrasing.

If you haven’t become a member of a club or signed up for the Watch AFL app, you can still watch the games in the USA on either FS1 or FS2 and in Canada on TSN. Showtimes can be found here on the Australian Football Association of North America website.

Don’t forget to put the Footy Tips in!

See you next week!

Balls somehow lost his bio and didn't realize it. He's now scrambling to write something clever and failing. He likes butts, boobs, most things that start with the letter B, and writing in the Second Person. Geelong, Toluca, Barcelona, and Steelers, in that order.
