Subsequent GTD reflections

Hello there fellow DFO’er.  Hope you’re well today.  And thanks for coming back to see last weeks tl;dr of last week as decided by my brain.  There’s no reason as to why some comments make it and others don’t. Seriously. There isn’t.

Not sure what to make of this one, someone that’s better at the whole English and meanings thingy will have to explain this one to me in small words, charts and images.

I’ve been taking Mounjaro for the Type 2 diabeetus/fat guy combo since last September. I’ve lost 40 lbs, and my A1C is down to 5.4. I’m still on the lowest dosage, and I want to stay on it as long as Line Go Down, because once you top out on the dosage you’re done losing weight on it.

One thing that reddit mentions is ‘food noise’. That mid-afternoon or late evening urge to grab a snack. It seems to dial back that 3 and 10 PM, “I’m hungry,” sensation.

One thing reddit also mentions is that your stomach will let you know if you eat too much. Which is true. I’m not going to barf if I do that, but I do get a little uncomfortable. You might also get constipated, or diarrhea, or one followed immediately by the other.

At any rate, for me that shit is a miracle drug.

When I’m in charge of all sports broadcasting, it will be a firing offense for a commentator to say “a two goal lead is the worst lead in hockey.”

It’s not. Because, you see, the object in hockey is to score more goals than your opponent, and advanced math tells me that 2 > 1.

Also, nobody ever says that the team up by two goals should let the other team score so that it’s the “safer” one-goal lead. So stop uttering this brainless cliche.

Quite the amazing day in Toronto. TAJ and I and Game Time Decision did this town proper.

Vlad Jr hit his first dinger of the year and the Jays beat the Braves 3-1.

That’s a good baseball experience. Fun stadium.

Everyone is incredibly nice.

Now let’s get after this town again tomorrow.

So our 13-year-old cat didn’t eat most of yesterday’s dinner, didn’t eat breakfast, and just turned up his nose at dinner. He did take two cat treats. He’s also willing to stay cuddled up in your lap, which he never does.

If dies on Friday I expect him back Sunday.

I’m about 90% sure that I’m going to have to put our cat down this week, as he’s pretty much given up food and water, and he’s 13 with a debatable heart, and man, this sucks.

Pets are awesome, so much better than people, but they do not live half as long as they should.

MIL is lamenting (on Facebook because she’s 70+ years-old and has no filter whatsoever) that there is no Easter get-together. This is her passive-aggressive code for being angry that she doesn’t get a turkey/ham supper that she feels her offspring owe her because she cooked for them as they were growing up. Every gotdamn thing is transactional for her.

Easter blues… Princess, Duke WCS, and her highness’ family is rocked with the flu this weekend and can’t make it. Reliving COVID and/or Black Death times sucks.

I’m not wholly unconvinced princess and I are old, recycled souls that run into each other every few lifetimes. She’s always some station higher than me. Somehow, I keep shoehorning myself into each of her lives. We do make an amazing baby together. She loves and hates me for it 🙂

Merry Easter, yinz folks. Hope you’re all doing well on the supposed biggest day of Christianity’s year that goes relatively unnoticed in the grand scheme of things. Love you all, love my kids, love and miss princess and Duke WCS. I know I may bring them up too frequently, but, I really do love them. Yinz aren’t bad, either.
