Isn’t that ironic? Or is it a paradox? I ain’t really care because I’m just wanting some hot NFL draft action in my veins-that should tide me over for a bit.
Following BFC’s lead, I’m just going to throw some point-form spaghetti at your wall.
-Hail Michigan! I don’t want to diminish their accomplishment in any way because winning a title in what are essentially the early days of the NIL landscape is a phenomenal achievement. Still, given their history, I’m a bit surprised that this is only their 2nd National Title.
-Watching the game, I was struck by the size of the athletes and how little room there seemed to be on the court. There’s always been yapping about raising the height of the net but I’d like to see the length and width of the court increased and the three point line pushed back a bit.
-On that note, the NFL still seems to have a field that I wouldn’t toy with, which seems odd because the size of the players has grown so much over the last 30 years. I was reading an article about greatest draft busts and Tony Mandarich was mentioned. I think he was about 6’4″, 310 and was considered a beast back in 1989. Today, he’d be a project that would have to spend some serious time with the weights.
-Speaking of non-Marika busts, I’ll tell you a story but there needs to be a setup. I once posted that for periods of time in college football that it was safe to draft a certain position from a certain school-Nebraska, 70’s o-linemen-USC, 70’s and 80’s, running backs-Saban’s Alabama team, wide receivers-because of a talent/position coach synchronicity. The Giants loved Michigan running backs-all drafted in the 1st fucking round-Jarrod Bunch, Tyrone Wheatley and Butch Woolfolk. What. The. [shakes head]
-There are too many Jalen/Jaylen’s in the NBA.
-The Orioles Zack Eflin is scheduled for Tommy John surgery-you gotta give him credit, still doing quality medical work after all these years. You’re a good one, Tommy John.
-Holy Crap! Sens d-man Thomas Chabot is going to be in the lineup tonight 17 days after breaking an arm which required surgery. I think we should all cheer for this wonderful hockey team from Ottawa as a respectful tribute to the man.
Here’s your assignment-what draft pick for your team was the worst? Or better yet-what guy did you think was going to set the world on fire and turned out to be a dud? I’ll see you down below.
