Yes, footy will definitely be way less foxy without his grinning face on the sidelines.  Leicester remain alive in the Champions League (despite a dreadful performance on Wednesday, a 1-nil win at home would see them advance into the quarterfinals), but the Board pulled the plug nonetheless, a mere 9+ months after he pulled off the greatest miracle in 21st century sport.

We shall see if this drastic, heart-wrenching move earns them survival or not.  Their first game under some interim fucker is at home Monday night against the Redshite (3:00, NBCSN).

First, though, the weekend fixtures.  Nothing until the crowded 10:00 window, because when you take two weeks off, you want to make sure you show as little action to starved fans as possible.  And the featured match is Chelsea hosting Swans (NBCSN).  Wheeeee!!  If you’d rather see a fair fight, CBNC has Palace/Middlesbrough, or you can join me in watching former Everton manager David Moyes bring his relegation fodder Sunderland squad back to Goodison, and hopefully get smashed (Extra Time).

NBC’s matinee is Watford hosting West Ham.  Watford have slid down to 13th, but still seem relegation-safe.  I was surprised to see the Hammers all the way up in 10th.  Good for them, I suppose.  Will probably watch basketball instead.

Sunday only brings one match, with the Manchester Derby postponed due to United playing Soton in the League Cup final (BeIn, 11:25).  3rd position Spurs host 9th position Stoke (8:30, NBCSN), in what could be somewhat interesting, given Spurs predilection for fucking things up when they get too close to coming good.

The DNC chair right now means nothing. After precincts, wards, counties, and states elect their respective officers and delegates and possibly reduce the antidemocratic rules in the party in the next 18 months we’ll probably have very different leadership in the DNC. Or we won’t, which will mean the party is doomed. DOOOOOOMED.

All I really ask is that we step away from the status quo, since the status quo just produced the biggest electoral disaster in my lifetime.

Tom Perez is the status quo. He’s a Clinton ally. It remains to be seen whether Ellison has any power whatsoever as Vice-chair. My guess is that his voice will be heard and then promptly ignored. I would love to be proven wrong.

I question whether the Democrats have learned a damn thing from this election.

Everyone should recall that when Obama nominated Perez for Labor, it was praised as a very bold, leftist pick.

And it was Obama who put him forward to run, not Clinton.

For the record, I preferred Buttigieg (neither faction).

I’ve heard enough about Ellison’s personality that I don’t like (in terms of working well with others), and frankly I don’t want to do ANYTHING that suggests Bernie Fucking Sanders is the de facto leader of the Democratic Party.

Tom Perez has organizational experience and understands the stakes involved. He will do fine. He is extremely progressive.

Democrats are going to win in spite of themselves next year. If they don’t immediately impeach Trump and Pence, they will be destroyed forever in 2020.

BTW, I know some people have defended the party towards the Berniecrats by saying that he and his delegates were responsible for the most progressive platform ever (which I think is bullshit). But here’s the thing: No one gives a fuck about the platform. No one has read the platform because the platform committee is comprised of the most unbearable people alive – people who are so awful that being stuck in a room with them would cause you to kill yourself within an hour. And I’ve only been so far as a state committee meeting. the DNC platform committee members are the Apex Loons. Bob Dole famously admitted in 1996 that he never read the RNC platform because who cares? The presidential nominee’s platform is the platform. Barring that, the chair’s platform is the platform. And now that the DNC has chosen to stay the course (unsurprisingly, as the only people allowed to vote for the chair are the fucking people who were already invested in the party and elected as delegates to the party that gave us the fucking Clinton nomination), they’re going to, in the words of Obama, “lead from behind.”

There was a reasonable calculation in nominating HillyBob. All the signs pointed to a “safe” nominee, and that’s what she had to be.

Because of a series of dominoes that all fell just so (about half her and/or her campaign’s fault, about half outside her control)…it all fell to shit. So here we are. Panic won’t do fuckall to help. We have to be the party of reason. We lose even more people if we abandon that, and we will never, ever compete again. We must keep that, and build on top of that with a more compelling, proactive strategy.

NOT our own brand of know-nothingdom. Left “soak the rich” populism against right “let’s get the brown people and the gays and put women back in the kitchen where they belong” populism will have a very, very predictable and terrible ending.

Work is an assault on the mind and (old) body with people I don’t care for, for an embarrassingly low rate of pay. Also, the shift was added to my schedule this week without warning or explanation. I saw an online poll on some brit footie site, I can’t remember which, but he came in 2nd among voters which was shocking because one…he isn’t a goal scorer and two….well he isn’t a white Brit.

His talent is fucking unreal. And no ego on the guy. You never hear a negative word about him on or off the pitch.

The brilliance of LC last season was Steve Walsh, who found Kante and Mahrez in the French 2nd League and Vardy at a National Front Rally.

Idrissa Gana Gueye was the best signing of the summer, and Morgan Schneiderlin the best of the January window. Everton’s midfield has been completely re-made in the course of 6 months, and it’s such a weapon that we have a real chance to sign Romelu Lukaku long-term now.

And while their performance in the domestic league has been disappointing, they are still in the fucking Euro Cup. They have been doing a lot better than they should, especially considering that the team has ZERO FUCKING DEPTH.

This just feeds into how the English National Team is a hilarious fucking embarrassment to football every time they play. The same level of out of touch with reality stupidity displayed by LC management exists throughout the FA and the fans.

I am seriously about to just stop with the EPL and follow the Bundesiliga. Most of the people I like at work are Polish and they end up following that league. Fox Sports 1 coverage is just as annoying as NBCsports so no change in that department.

I don’t like following a league where I am confident I could run a team better than half the teams in it. I end up hate watching matches more often then caring about the teams.

I really don’t think it was that expectations got high. I think it was that Leicester is run by Donald Sterling types. Very content to take the money given to them just by being in the league and make a profit by not spending money. Becoming a success involves investing and spending money and they just were not ever interested in that. Last year was a fluke that the Board regretted ever happened.

LC is not an EPL level club. Even with the EPL TV deal, they don’t pull in enough cash to fund a proper EPL level team.

When Claudio took the team to the Euro cup, they basically doubled their work load. They could either say “fuck the Euro Cup” or say “fuck the EPL this year”…they could not do both.

No one should put any single league’s regular season over performance in the Euro Cup. Its the fucking post season.

This is akin to firing an NFL coach, late in the post season, because in the next regular season, being played concurrently, they are 4-8.

LC is terrified of getting relegated and losing out of the EPL TV deal. BUt the thing is, they are getting relegated no matter what. They are too small of a fucking team, and they just derailed any fucking attempted at getting amazing results in the Euro Cup because whoever is dumb enough to take the job is going to poach the Euro squad to fill up the EPL squad…and they are still going to fucking get relegated.
