When we arrived to this game, we cruised around the stadium to see anything that might have been upgraded. Nothing seemed to have changed which isn’t much of a surprise considering how much the ownership is putting into fielding a winning product. I still have no idea where the so called Bud Selig Plaza, or BS Plaza, is located.
When we heard the anthems begin, we stopped to acknowledge them. We were the only people to stop. They played the anthems of both countries playing and then they played the US national anthem. Not sure what to make of that.
“Tastes” of the world! Fried rice and Egg rolls. Tacos. Terriyaki bowls. Falafels. Poutine and air hockey. Didn’t catch what Cuba or Italy had available.
The loudest cheer of the night by far was for Bautista getting rung up. The Venezuelan fans didn’t like him for some reason. There was a chant of “O-dor” during his plate appearances.
Padres manager Andy Green had complained the day before of the usage, or lack thereof, of Solarte. So, in apparent response, he was inserted in as a late inning replacement at an unfamiliar position. He proceeded to bobble two balls. He did go 2 for 2 at the plate at least.
At the 3 hour mark and only in the 7th inning. My buddy and I decided to bail since we both had to work in the morning. 14 pitchers and 6 of those were mid inning changes resulted in a 4 hours and 5 minute total game time. I actually made it home before the game ended. We both left somewhat disappointed because after the Puerto Rican fans in game 1 and the U.S. (when they started winning) fans, this games fans just weren’t as fun.

I would have been really impressed if they had Canadian air curling. I’m not sure how that would work, but shut up.
I don’t see how it wouldn’t. It’d be like shuffleboard but you can use brushes to block airflow in certain places to make the puck/cylinder/thingy move differently
I believe that you both need to see this. This is how bored people get in the winter in my hometown.

“(T)he ice met a sudden demise under extremely mild temperatures last week.”
This sentence made my day for some reason. I never though extreme and mild could ever be used in this way.
In Canadian Air Hockey, do you have to apologize to your opponent after you score on them?
I actually watched a guy place the puck in his own goal.
Completely unrelated to the post, but I have an idea for the “site”. We should make a DFO Discord server
I’ve no idea what that is, but I’d like to subscribe to your newsletter.
It’s basically a group chat on steroids
It would be great for the Poker Room, but I think only 3-4 of us game consistently on PC to use it otherwise.
I’d better look into it tonight, or else I will be too consumed with Mass Effect to do anything else.
They also have a mobile app and there’s text and voice chat.
If the news were right, Petco personnel had to kick out Puerto Rican fans on Saturday ’cause they were still partyin’ after beating VEN prior to DR – USA. Which was a meaningless game (PR had already clinched).
So yeah I expect a downer if there are no boricuas involved. I’ll let this old YouTube video explain:

A couple Puerto Rican fans ended their Friday night somewhere they didn’t plan. It’s addressed in tomorrow’s installment.
Ha ha! In your cola-da!

What? BS Plaza doesn’t have Cinnabon/Orange Julius/Wetzle’s Pretzles next to the Buckle?

Fun fact: my wife, in her younger days, worked for wetzels pretzels and was recruited to do their training video. I’m guessing (hoping) the training video has been updated more recently.
