2019 [DFO] Banner Tournament: Second Round, Day 4

I’d say Happy Tournament, but again, the First Four doesn’t really count. So happy two days of almost tournament. As opposed to this tournament, which has already been going on for some time and’ll chug on through the second round and remain ahead of the real one. Which I guess makes us better? If not, then it does now. Also how have we not had this yet? Come on Senor, you’re dropping the ball.

Not that any of these polls are, they’ve got their dance partners in either the form of the other matchup in the day or the opponent. Listen, I didn’t think the analogy through. The important thing is that even if you win your game on Tuesday or Wednesday, you didn’t really win a game in the tournament, even if you want to spin it that you did. But we all know the truth.

For that matter, isn’t the term “First Four” flawed? I mean yes, it’s supposed to be the first four games played, but Final Four is the last four teams standing, the winners of the four respective regionals. There are only three games left, and for the two winners of the semifinals, it’s not even their final game, as they have the national championship afterwards. What does this mean? Well in short, GET YOUR FUCKING TERMS STRAIGHT. Also in that case, those First Four should just be the “last four in” at-large teams, not the shitty conference champs. 1, nobody wants to watch that, and 2, winning your conference should get you into the field of 64, not the field of “I don’t want all these smelly low-to-mid conference teams in.” Because that’s what it totally is.
