Your “Thirsty Thursday” Evening Open Thread

I spent part of my day earlier being way too angry at things I can’t control. So tonight, I’m going to take advantage of what being nice can produce.

During last week’s Vancouver Snowmageddon, I must have shovelled my invalid neighbour’s driveway & walk about 5 times. She’s a nice older lady who is more than willing to pick up the paper when we are away on vacation. That’s about as pro quo as I’d expect from someone not my mother.

Well guess what I came home to on my doorstep yesterday?

A half-dozen of these babies, along with a nicely handwritten “thank you” note! She chose them because she remembered my wife is Latvian, and Latvia is in the Baltic. No point ruining the gesture by pointing out that it’s brewed in Russia by Carlsberg – it’s the damned thought.

Beers I didn’t expect are usually tastier. In respect of this, I’m making pizza for dinner, to accompany the missus & I watching “Top Chef”. (Ice Liouns game during commercials, of course.) In respect of anti-Russian sentiments, I think I’ll use Ukrainian sausage as the meat base.

It’ll help prepare me for the phone calls from the old country this weekend talking yelling about “Scoxit“.
