Being only 6 days out, I’m getting alcohol reminders in my email, letting me know what I should get to be the most excellent of hosts come the 17th.
While I’m not one for commemorative or celebrity bottles, this caught my attention.
Dubbed the official Irish whiskey of the legendary band, The Pogues is made in Skibbereen, west Cork. This blended whiskey is sweet and intense with notes of malt and cracked nuts.
Well, that town sure sounds like a Shane McGowan pronunciation. I looked at the reviews. While most were positive, this particular one stood out from the rest:
I am a big fan of Irish whiskey and a bigger fan of The Pogues. This stuff is almost undrinkable. What a disappointment.

Twenty minutes after my wife leaves for the gym, and ten minutes into the Liverpool match, my bored kid wanders inside and asks me to take him to the park. It’s amazing to watch Crosby play in 2017. He has the most ice touchdowns in the league, 2nd in scoring, just 3 behind, while playing fewer games and should probably be considered for a Selke this year.

I fucking hate Crysby as much as the next sane person… but yeah, he’s easily the best player in the league. If not for the concussions, I think he’d be in Mario territory before his career is out
I don’t know where he’d be career wise, but, I think he’d be running away with this year’s scoring title had he not decided to become one of the best two way forwards in the game.
Halftime update (Big West tourney final)
Bad news:
1) Worst half of basketball I’ve ever seen UCI play, including when I played intramural league there 25+ years ago
2) UCI has 16 fucking points at halftime. They might have 16 fucking turnovers too.
Good news:
1) UC Davis is almost as bad and only has an 8 point lead.
2) My wife made French Dip sandwiches and I’m full of food and beer and feeling very lucky in general.

WVU was trailing by the exact same score to Kansas State last night, and ended up winning.
