It’s the weekend, so I assume President 9-iron is down in Florida waiting to see if North Korea and its allies decide to make “Red Dawn” a documentary.

Just so we’re clear, the 1984 version

is much, much better than the 2012 version.

I don’t really believe this is up for debate. Also, what the fuck is Thor doing in a movie about Chinese relabelled as Koreans invading Seattle? “Your Super Bowl contending Cincinnati Bengals” is a more believable plot.

Nerd aside:

Marvel’s Civil War (the whole 2005-06 event) was a shit show in many ways because none of the writers or editors knew what any other was doing, what exactly the registration act did, or what the progression and resolution were because it was pretty ad hoc. By the time Secret Invasion came out in 2008, editorial control was a great deal tighter, scripts were shared, and there were even instances of overlap where scenes and dialogue would appear in disparate books because of this. By 2008, Marvel had also really tightened the reins on making sure books were released on time no matter what, whereas Civil War dragged on longer than it was supposed to because the event miniseries artist, Steve McNiven, was just too slow and Millar was writing/rewriting it over time. The 2008 event was written by Brian Bendis, who has, at minimum, a 6-month lead time for scripts.
